Whispering Canyons, what to expect...

We have an ADR here for our first night at Disney! It sounds like a great time! I am sure my two DS 9 and 5 will have a blast with it! 9 more days to go!!! WOO HOO!!! :cool1:

DH & I were there in December for dinner and the antics weren't too bad. We sat near the fireplace and BJ was our server. He was fabulous! DH & I aren't really outgoing people so I was a little nervous but I think the server can tell. Something happened and BJ stated "welcome to the crappiest place on earth"...well this became DH's line throughout the rest of the trip if a ride or something broke down.

The food was pretty good, we both got the skillet and I believe everything is smoked, which made it very tender.

We love WCC - always have the skillet. The kids make us take them every year - wouldn't be a family vacation without a trip to the Canyon. When it's just my DH and I, we find if you go at lunch time (before 3 pm), it's toned down quite a bit - also, the skillet's $10 cheaper for lunch (because it doesn't include the sliced beef or whatever it is my husband loves that comes with the dinner skillet). As long as I have my chicken and corn on the cob, I'm happy. And the kids get the unlimited milkshakes in mason jars and they don't need dessert!

I have been here 4 times and I have never really had any antics played on me. The wait staff is very inconsistant when it comes to this. I wouldn't go in expecting the best time of your life because you just might end up very disapointed. I dunno, maybe we are just boring people lol...

We've been to WCC twice. Once in '96 with a group of 9 and again last December. I was 14 when we went in '96 with my 12 year old cousin, 15 year old cousin, 17 year old brother, and 18 year old cousin. None of us enjoyed it as we all just wanted to relax and eat. Of course, our parents kept trying to get us to get into it and I think they enjoyed it more than we did.

When we went in December, we were all over the whole experience within 10 minutes. Maybe we're not audience participation restaurant fans. But we do love HDDR. Anyways, the first couple of times they yell for ketchup was pretty funny but after the 27th time I was sick of hearing the word ketchup. The food was nothing to write home about and the bottomless milkshakes were disappointing. We gave it a second chance and apparently it's not for us.

On a side note, I almost wish WL had built WCC in a seperate building. There were some nights we just wanted to relax in the lobby but in the afternoon/evening it's so loud.

Some people love WCC but it wasn't for us.
