Whispering Canyon

Planning a trip in late Jan/early Feb 2010. Can someone tell me if the family style buffet at Whispering Canyon is BBQ? The menu mentions ribs and pulled pork, but not if they are covered in BBQ sauce. I like all the food mentioned, just not the sauce. I'm pretty happy that this is my biggest concern right now.

Meats are smoked, but no BBQ sauce cooked on it. It is however available on the side if you want it. We went Dec 2007 and this was our favorite meal.It was also the only restaurant personally requested by my DS14 for our Thanksgiving 2009 trip. He got the skillet then and loved it. BTW, he HATES BBQ sauce. Actually makes him breakout in hives.

Hope this helps. I'm sure you will LOVE it as much as we did. Be sure to ask for ketsup, answer a cellphone call during your meal , ask for refills , and ask for straws.

Just to clarify, Whispering Canyon is not a buffet, but if more than 1 person at the table orders the skillet, they serve it family style. When we ordered it in June, I could have sworn there was a little bit of sauce on the meats. But I'm pretty sure you could ask for it without.

I thought there may have been some BBQ sauce on the ribs, but I don't remember it on the pulled pork or the chicken. I don't like many BBQ sauces but at WCC it came on the side and I thought it was actually pretty good. Not spicy at all.

It was on our food in the skillet when we were there in September. Personally, we thought the food was awful (we liked the barbecued ribs at Flame Tree a lot more).
