Has anyone had a good experience here lately? I have been reading lots of negatives.. We did it in summer of 2007 and liked it. The food wasnt the best was pretty good. Kids loved the bottomless shakes and the "ketchup" calls.. Was looking forward to it but wondering since I have heard sooooo many negatives lately.

I've had a couple of negative experiences here, but we met some good friends for dinner there on my recent trip just a couple of weeks ago and the meal was generous and tasty. We had wine too; even their least expensive white wine was very nice. It made me think I would go back again.

We love WCC... we always love their food and always have a great time.

Personally, we found it very overrated and did not enjoy it at all and we won't go back. However, if you enjoyed it, you should go.

When our family schedules dining at Disney, we either choose quality first (like Artist Point or Chefs De France) or we choose theme and/or activity first (like Ohana or Hoop Dee Doo Revue). We usually get a little of both, but are never disappointed as long as we get one of the two.

For WCC, we had researched the menu and saw that while there were some highlights, we would really be going for the theme and the audience participation. As big fans of the napkin dance, the clap-alongs and washboards of the HDDR, we had hoped for something similar. Unfortunately, it was not to be.

While our server was very engaging, the atmosphere relies more on the participation of the guests than the HDDR does. On our night, it seemed as if most tables of guests were waiting for things to happen to them, with very few offering to participate for others. No matter how energetic all the servers were, they were playing to a largely dead room.

On top of that, while we saw a Pony Express ride just end as we entered the restaurant, another was not started up to the time we left 90 minutes later. Figuring that WCC would look to turn tables in a 60-90 minute time frame, I was a bit surprised that my DKs would not get a chance to participate. By contrast, Ohana usually schedules a new coconut/broom race about every hour.

Having noted all of the above, I found the food to be OK, but it could not carry the whole value of the cost of the meal. I'm glad to say we tried it, but I would not be likely to schedule it again.

We were there in May and loved it! We are planning to go back in January. We found the food wonderful (we love BBQ type foods), and the atmosphere fun and entertaining (although service was slow as we waited for our bill). The pulled pork and chicken were incredible, my MIL loved the pull and eat shrimp, and I had the best smoothie for my drink! OH, and the corn on the cob...wish I would've asked for more of that!

DD and I got food poisoning there this month. It was the ribs. So no, we won't be going back...:rolleyes1

We have breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe every time we go to WDW. The last time was October 28, 2008.

We went in early Nov. It was one of the most enjoyable meals we had. Food was good, we were not rushed at all and the antics were lots of fun!! Enjoy!

this is a must do for us. we are big hams and lovemaking a ruckus and getting the attention. a lot of it is what you make of it! we fin the food good and the milkshakes delicious (cotton candy!) and request Geno, he is an awesome server if you want to have some fun!
