Our first night at WDW, we are going resort-hopping to see C'mas lights. We have ps at Whispering Canyon. We rarely go to menu places at WDW--generally we do buffets or counter service.

So--advise please, on what to order--2 adults, 3 kids ages 15, 12, 8.:goodvibes

we are going to WCC on our first night at the World too! Must be telepathic Buckeye thing:crazy:

I don't have suggestions, but wanted to say "HI!" to you (AlreadyExcitedGrammy is my Mom ;)) and put in what I thought looked good on the menu

The all you can eat skillet is what i'm sure my DH will order! sounds good to me but this darn Weight Watcher program has decreased my ability to "put it away". which is really a good thing, but I don't know if it's logical for me to get an all-you-can-eat??

I do want to try a famous turkey leg though?

Whatever we get, it must require ketchup!!

can't wait to read all the yummy suggestions!

Hello fellow--Ohioan! Let's hope we get some great suggestions on great food at WC! Our trips are almost here!!!!!!!!!!!!!:teeth:

Actually, I think the skillet dinner is a good choice. It gives you a chance to sample all of their delicious smoked meats. :teeth: We ordered it even when we weren't all that hungry because we didn't feel the price was that much higher than ordering from the menu - plus we enjoy the variety instead of deciding on only one thing.

We ate at WCC in August and had one of the best meals we've ever had. I ordered the pork chops and they were delicious. This dish would be enough to split between 2 big eaters... it comes with 2 chops and I couldn't even finish one. My husband had the ribs and loved them. They also have free refills on milkshakes... not a bad deal at all. We're looking forward to having a few meals there when we stay at WL in May.

Skip lunch and get the skillet!

Well that's what I did. I loved it, except for the stew, which was just...okay. The pulled pork is really good, the mashed taters are great, and the chicken, and ribs are good, as well.

Our second fave after Boma.

Definetly someone needs to order the all-you-can-eat skillet....fun and good!
But, if you guys are in to pork chops, I also highly recommend that someone order them as well. Like Beglluvr said they are great. (But I gotta' admit, unlike Beglluvr, I had no trouble eating the whole thing...even though portions were big!)

does anyone know the hours of whispering canyon for dinner??? would they be open for dinner either at 4 or after Wishes at 7:30.?.hubby loves pork chops and that's about his only chance this trip...wdw dine is going to put a circle with a big red "x" through my name if I change one morePS ...hey I can't help it if the schedule just came out....
edited cause...
husband wants to know just how big these pork chops are ( evidently envisoning 1/2 a pig...)!

:wave2: husband still concerned about the chops so moving this up:teeth:

My wife and myself ate here for the first time this past Sept. and we really enjoyed it. We split the meatloaf dinner and we sure were glad we did since you get a lot of food. Then we had a piece of there apple pie for dessert and it was very good also. We will be eating here again on Nov. 30, our first night of our upcoming trip .

Dinner hours are 5-10pm, pork chop dinner is 2 chops, about 6-7 ozs each after cooking, brushed with a ginger maple garlic glaze. Good stuff!

They have a salad with walnuts and chicken that is very good. We've had breakfast there often, but only ate a late lunch there once.

On a last-minute, hey why not, arrangement, our fam of 5 ate there last trip. Like some tohers who have posted before me, dh had pork chops and I had the ribs. His chops were excellent; I loved my ribs. (I got a half-rack, and while I am a decent eater and was quite hungry, I had a few ribs left over and DH had a whole chop left. Both, however, were very tasty cold in Savannah the next day for lunch! :) ) As for the kids, Ds (7) had a burger (good); ds (6) had a hot dog (good and fun -- he just HAD to ask for mustard... but then added to the fun b/c he likes spicy mustard and while we had about 8 bottles of mustard on our table -- spicy wasn't in the litter!) and dd(2) had a little of all of the above (and I *think* some mac and cheese... can't remember!) We really enjoyed our meal there and plan to take our family when we return next summer!

Sorry I cannot answer for dinner, but we just had lunch at WCC a couple of weeks ago. Nobody had the skillet in our group, but we had Meatloaf, the pulled pork sandwich, and various other sandwiches. Great food in huge portions, even for lunch. Big hits were the bottomless shakes. Best dessert of our trip was here as well, the Banana Dustbowl.

We got the skillets and kids got chicken fingers (although they were concerned because the server said they only had chicken "toes"!)

Don't forget dessert. We ordered the Banana Dustbowl. Awesome!!!

Had the pork chops when I was there in May, on the recommendation of my server. Outstanding!

If that banana dustbowl is the one with carmelized bananas, Haagan Das ice cream and a flour tortilla, don't miss it!.
Had it twice while I was there and it'd almost be worth the trip just for the meal.

Been to WCC three times; once for lunch and twice for dinner. Each time I have ordered the skillet because it offers a nice variety of food, and it's only a couple dollars more than an entree. When we were there last month (Gosh, was it only a month ago, it's seems like an eternity!), I especially liked the ribs, chicken, salad, biscuits, pulled pork and cole slaw.Everything was delicious and the servers always crack me up. When I went in March, my Mom ordered the pork chops and thought they were great- two nice sized chops with a giant onion ring on top- and I think it came with corn on the cob and potatoes.
