Ive been contemplating this or right now we have San Angel Inn reservations for our arrival day. Im wondering if we could just do a walk up at 5pm (sat oct) when they open how long of a wait it could be or could we even count on getting in since I cant get a reservation

The best ressie we could get a few months ago was 7:45, we then walked up at 6:30 and asked if we could get in early. We had to wait about 30 minutes. I would imagine at 5pm you would have much better luck.

just looked and maybe saturdays they open at 4? rest of the days are 5? i thought about taking the 6:50 dinner reservation (only one) and coming in early as i will be starving that late. i know alot of people eat that late but not me! lol

maybe i better grab it just in case and make the switch...my tummy dont do well with that much food that late, but maybe since we will be walking afterwards and staying up a little later ill be ok.

thanks :goodvibes

We are arriving at WL on Saturday Sept 18th, so we decided to have supper at WCC. The only ressie we could get for that night is at 840pm, so it seems to be quite booked for that Satuday in September. That being said, my husband and I years ago had a late reservation like the one I have for this September, and tried to get in early. We got there just as they were opening and waited maybe 5 minutes for a table right in the middle of the room, so I say give it a try. You'll probably get in.

WCC had one of the longest wait times for us on our last trip, WITH an ADR. If you are going to try, I would try it only if you have time to get to your scheduled ADR if it doesn't work out,

Walk ups were over an hour wait early December. They were seated as we left having eaten.

We scored one with no wait *just before* 5PM (which was their opening), but it was totally lucky---it was our arrival day at VWL, and we just didn't have the energy to go to Epcot (where we had a 6:00 PM Teppan).

If you are going to try it, get to WL by 4:30, and loiter near the entrance until the hostess shows up. I wouldn't do it unless I was staying at WL/VWL---definitely too risky for a special trip.
