Whispering Canyon vegetable enchilida's??

UGH, unfortunately!!!!!!! I was really looking forward to WCC but not only did we have a not so great waitress who reeked of cigarette smoke, but we were seated way in the back away from the action. I thought, hey, at least the food should be good. WRONG. Both my mom and I ordered these and they were not good. Neither of us finished them and instead picked at my dad's skillet. Seriously, don't order them!

Thank you so much for answering - that's what i was planning on ordering!!! I am a vegeterian so the skillets not for me - but the sides looks delicious. I am sure I can work something out now that I know!!!! Thank you again!!!!!:thanks: :flower3:

To the OP,

You need to wait for more responses. There was a recent thread about veggie entrees and I recall that the WCC enchiladas received many positive comments.

I agree, wait for more responses..Just like with anything, some people like it and some people don't...don't give up:) I am trying Hollywood and Vine, even tho the first few reviews were bad...there were several postive ones:)

I look forward to more reviews!!!!!!! They sounded so good.......I have until Aug. 27th;)

I had heard more bad things than good things about WCC but I still wanted to try it and go and see for myself, which I think you should do! I was just really disappointed in the vegetarian option because, like you, I thought they looked so good!!! I'm just thankful that it was my only bad meal of the trip, so I am glad I tried it. I am still trying San Angel next trip despite all the negative reviews.

I am the only vegeterian in our group of 8. Our meals are all over so I am sure some will be hits and some misses vegeterian dish wise. Just wondering if I had any "sure things". Sounds like I do in Boma!! We will def be going - I am sure I can swipe a few sides from my husbands skillet if need be. Besides I have that milkshake!!!!

I read the other thread earlier. In Cinderelly's defense, 1 pp's group loved it, & she & her mom didn't. That equates to 1 positive, & 1 negative review. I wouldn't say several people loved it, if you're going by that thread alone. I don't really care either way, but this thread was starting to emit a "gang-up" vibe, & I don't like to see that happen.

To the OP, hopefully you'll get several reviews of this particular dish to help in your decision.

Haha yeah stop ganging up on me because my mom and I didn't like the enchiladas! LOL! No but the OP is right, swipe the sides from the skillet because those were good! Plus, our WCC experience was just all around bad so maybe that made the food taste worse than it actually was, since I feel like that can happen sometimes. I can't wait to hear what you think of it! The veggie option at Coral Reef was awesome and so was the lasagna at Chefs de France! I'm jealous you are going to Boma, I didn't have time last trip or this upcoming trip :(

Glad to hear about the Coral Reef choice. We are going to eat there too! Yeah I can't wait for Boma either:) . I am taking pics of everything!! DH will love that;) . I wish I was eating at Chefs..Maybe next time!!
Thanks for taking the time to respond!!

Cinderelly -- Could you say in more detail what was wrong with the enchilada? Was it the sauce or the spices or the texture? Just curious, I haven't tried it, but it might give us all an idea of what you thought the problem was. Thanks.

Another suggestion for veggie dining with non-vegetarians is Spoodles on the Boardwalk. They have many huge appetizers that can make a great veggie meal. They also will eliminate the shrimp from the linguini or the sausage from the rigatoni. They also have at least one veggie entree on the menu, and when we were there last they offered another with gnocchi that were not on the menu. All in all, we thought we had lots of options there.

Actually, there were six vegetarians in one group and Cinderelly & her mom in the other... so that's six to two;)

I'm really not ganging up on Cinderelly. I appreciate her input; I can use all the help I can get. But I already have the ADR for WCC, and now I'm intrigued. Are the enchiladas disgusting, or delicious? I have to find out....

Coral Reef's veggie dish is not the one on-line on All Ears, its a tofu skewer type thing and its awesome!

The veggie enchilada had this BBQ sauce on it which was cold, but the enchilada was hot - I didn't like that. The sauce mixed funny with the quinoa that was with the enchilada, and the enchilada itself was just soggy and seemed as if it was sitting out for awhile. They give you two of them and I tried to eat 1/2 of one before I gave up, so my mom and I just ate the potatoes and cornbread off my dad's skillet LOL!

Looks like our calculators work differently. Mine adds 1 member + 1 member as 2 members. Like I said before, I don't care either way, but I don't think a post by one member carries more weight than a post of another, regardless of what they have to say. If it were 6 unrelated members saying yea & 2 unrelated members saying nay, I'd agree that there was more positive posts than negative.

Oh well, I'll put my calculator away now. :rotfl: I'm definitely not here to argue the merits of WCC's food. I just felt bad for Cinderelly. :(

Hehe thanks :)

Let me say up front I'm a vegetarian and WCC is way off my dining list. Just doesn't appeal for menu or atmosphere. None of the WL places draw me. There are a number of WDW restaurants that fall into this category for me. Doesn't mean thery're bad places, but not for me. I'm also a woman over 40 so I do what I want and don't settle too often :rotfl2: Can't imagine what I'll be like when I pass 50. :lmao:

That said I do see negative reviews/comments on a place from the same poster and I just don't see the value of chasing every post that mentions a place that you didn't like. It just pushes people away from the place and in some cases make them feel bad or afraid of their choice. You didn't like it, but didn't die from it so let them decide for themselves. I ate at one place at WDW that was flat out bad. I have mentioned it in some posts, but I've seen the place listed often and rarely make a point to say it was just awful (our 5yo wouldn't even eat his fries so you know it was bad)." Its a favorite for many, so why not let someone go and try it for themselves? The variety at WDW is part of the charm. The anti sentiments that can show up here are less than "magical" at times.

My turn to defend Cinderelly:goodvibes

In this thread and the one I attached, Cinderelly encouraged me and others to try out WCC, and said that the skillet sides were good. I, for one, don't mind that she gives her opinion and, in response to a question from another member, she was able to give good reasons why she didn't like it. She even mentioned that her opinion could have been affected by a bad waitress and location!

My only problem is that the worse she makes the enchiladas sound, the more I want to try them! Am I sick or what?
