I was wondering what most people order at WC? Pics of the skillet look good. I know you can't share this, so I was wondering about the other entree's. If we can get AR we would go here on our last night, we are on the dining plan and we are trying to stretch our credits out since we will be there for 6 full days and only get 5 credits each....we also have 2 scheduled for 1 day (breakfast at Chef Mickey and late dinner at LeCellier :teeth: ). Does anyone have any suggestions on sharing at WC, It's DH and I and DS 9 and DD 7, DS is very picky so he would be ordering off the children's menu and probably getting burger or chicken  but DD will try anythng. Any suggestions.....

I've only ever had the AYCES which was shared between me and my DS. But we paid for one adult/one child. I felt bad as we left so much food, not because it was bad but because we just couldn't eat it all! It had roasted chicken, pulled pork, ribs, mashed potatos, baked beans, sausage and corn bread. Add all that food with the unlimited milkshakes (vanilla is my favorite) and we almost had to be rolled out of that place! We didn't even have room for dessert :earseek: If you pay for one child meal out of pocket for your DS and your DD shares an entree you can save 2 TS credits for another night.

We were just there for dinner in July, I had the meat loaf, DD had the grouper and DD's BF had just the chicken soup. The meat loaf dinner was big, I didn't finish it, DD's grouper was enough for two light eaters to share*or maybe an appetizer to split as well* and the BF's soup was a nice size, rich and good, we were all delighted with our choices.

HTH! :wave2:

the jethro pork chops were really really really good..i never get pc's out someplace ( i like them ok but hubby loves them so i make them enough at home) but someone here recommended them so i got them and they were great..2 very large chops and tons of potatoes, no way i could finish so hubby( who got the skillet and said it was "ok" as he eyed my chops) ate one whole one

We were there for both lunch and dinner a few weeks back during our WL stay. At lunch I had the pulled pork sandwich and at dinner (on a different day) I got the skillet.

I've also ordered one of their pasta dishes on another trip. At one time they had an excellent chicken salad sandwich but unfortunately took it off the menu. Everything I've had there has always been good. The pasta dishes are big enough to share. Of course you can't share the skillet since it is per person.

DH and DS had the skillet so they were taken care of, DD had the kids chicken legs (she ate all the chicken but that was it). I had the steak and with the nachos appetizer, it was waaaaay too much and could have definitely been shared.

We loved the nachos appetizer - almost enough for a meal for 2! I ordered the roasted chicken - it was 3 pieces with mashed potatoes and cinammon apples. YUMMY! Our family of 5 (DH, me, DS9, DS6, and DD1) ate for 2 TS credits on our last night at WL. We got 1 all you can drink milkshake and 1 sprite for drinks and 2 all you can drink milkshakes for the desert part of the meal. (DH, DS9, and DS6 all got the shakes). Of course, we didn't get addt'l dessert, but it was more than enough.

BTW, our other appetizer was the wings and the other entree was adult hamburger (not on the menu, but they do have it.)

We eat here every trip and are looking foward to it in the spring - so long away, maybe I can sneak a trip in before? Anyway, we have never ordered the skillets and we have enjoyed all the food we have had here. Can't remember what we had off hand. But this year we did have early PS's and the wait staff sat down and played with my kids for 20 minutes...

I have to say that about 5 years ago Jefro made me try his pork chops LOL Some of the best I have ever had !!! So tender and moist , as Rachel Ray woudl say YUMMO !

We ate at WCC for the first time in June...loved it! We each at off the menu rather than the skillets. I had the chicken, DH had the pork chops, and DS ate the steak. I posted photos on the sticky thread about your food photos...here's the link for the entire thread.

Or a link to the page with my post including photos.

If you go to the beginning of the entire thread and do a "search this thread" for Whispering Canyon Cafe you should find several photos from there.

Hope this helps!

I will add a question here about this place if you don't mind.
When you get the skillet do you also get an appetizer or does that count for all? We are using the dining plan and you get the appetizer/entree/dessert with that. Also are the shakes counted as drinks or dessert there? And if they are not dessert what cool things do they have for dessert?

Another question, but totally related.

So, it's okay to share? We will be 3 (2 adults, 1 child 8). It seems that we are always wasting food & since portions tend to be large, I was considering using only 2 TS at a few places. One for DH and one to be shared by me & DS. Do you let the wait person know that you are sharing? Do they mind?

DH and I ate there this past Feb. He had the skillet and it was delicious. I ordered the Little Nutty Salad - and two things about it - one - it was delicious, and two - it was huge (this was for lunch). Also - the cornbread was the best I ever had.

I don't know if it counts for all on the dining plan as we use the DDE card. I believe the shakes are considered drinks. They do have some nice looking desserts...Banana Dust Bowl is what DH and I shared, which was tasty (but I don't like bananas so I just ate the ice cream since I was really not hungry for dessert.) Again, if you will look on the thread about photos of Disney food and search the thread for Whispering Canyon Cafe you'll see photos of many of their offerings.

I don't think sharing the skillet is allowed...it is meant to be "all you care to eat" by one person. They do (according to a previous post) have a child's portion of the skillet. I can't answer this one with a definite reply...only guessing that it would be frowned upon.

To help ya both out, you might want to check out allearsnet.com...they have a great listing of the menus for most all of the places at WDW, including WCC. If you wanted to pay out of pocket for a child's meal you could get an idea how much to expect.

Well, hope this helps and that someone who used the dining plan can chime in with an answer for ya.

Thanks it does help. I have heard about sharing meals at other restaurants but not for the skillet or any buffets. And I do love that list at all ears, on there now as a matter of fact! Thanks for the info!

The portions are huge. We ordered off the menu. DS13 had Nachos for appitizer and as they were put in front of him he said "this is enough for my whole meal" He is a good eater. We left there with a large shopping bag full of food we couldn't eat(our server made us feel guilty because we had lots left). If we did it again we would share.

The shakes count as a drink, not a desert.

OK....you can share the al a carte entrees but not the all you care to eat. If you get the all you care to eat, the salad that comes with it counts as your appitizer. Milk shakes can count as your drink or your dessert. If you will be sharing, please let the server know when you first sit down, this way they type in the correct amount of "coupons" to be used.

Great, thanks! I feel much better knowing that we can share and not waste so much.
