Right now I have a PS for Artist Point on Saturday for my birthday. It will be myself, my boyfriend and my friend.

After seeing all of these great pictures fom Whispering Canyon, I was wondering if we should go there instead.

Any thoughts?

I have only eaten at WC. If you are looking for a loud, fun, interactive dinner. OH did I say LOUD. Then WC is the way to go. Ask for ketchup, Large pepsi's and extra straws and dont for get to say it is your Birthday.

If you want a nice relaxing adult birthday I would suggest AP.

Again its your call. I Love WC but I go with several kids. :cool1:

Have a HB not matter where U go :bday:

Hi Lora,

Well, it's kind of like the difference between Mozart and Twisted Sister!!!!

They're both good in their own way: Artists Point is a very quiet, serene feast of fine cuisine. WCC is loud, boisterous, singing, dancing, and down-home food.

It all depends on how you'd like to celebrate---they are certainly two completely different experiences!

Good luck,

Bob

I have eaten at both. although AP was almost twp years ago.
It's a hard comparison as AP is more quiet and adult.
WC is fun, loud and interactve.
The food at AP is more adult too and good. But nothing that has enticed us to return. But I would not mind going back sometime.

It depends on what you are in the mood for on which one to select.

I don't think I'd celebrate an adult birthday at "Whispering" Canyon---

I was just thinking about switching to WC because I really want to go there, but my BF isn't fond of places like that(Doesn't like being poked at by waiters), but may feel better with my friend there to take the heat off. He and I will be doing the rest of our meals at adult places though.

So I guess I am leaning towards switching.

So do you all think it will still be very LOUD at 9pm-ish? It doesn't really bother me though.

Once I solve this, I move on to my next dilema - Ohana's or Narcossee's. lol

I think it's funny WL chose Whispering Canyon as the name of such a boisterous restaurant. It certainly isn't "whispering". ;)

Artist Point is an awesome restaurant, but it's definitely more sedate than WC.

Why not do both? ::yes::

9:00 -you might just be in luck and see one of the childrens stick-horsey rides around the restaurant, with the servers beating their serving trays on the floor as accompaniment, while yelling "Yee-ha" and "Ya -hoo".
Great fun--I know I'll always remember it :rolleyes2

I'm thinking about that too. Which is why I may lean towards WC when there are 3 of us.
We usually plan our meals the day of, but in case it is crowded, my BF has given me the okay to make some more PS's. :) :Pinkbounc

Heavens no...don't give up Artist Point for whisphering canyon. There is no comparison between the two. Artist Point is one of the best restaurants on disney property, has been since it opened.

Whispering canyon..well, the food is ok..most people go there for the antics because they have kids or whatever. It is very loud.

Definately don't give up artist point!!!

I had tried to go to AP for the past five years, but never made it. Now, I'll never miss it! WC is fine, but if your bf gets irritated by being poked at, that will encourage the wait staff to do that sort of thing MORE, not less! You know him best, of course, but I wouldn't give up AP for WC.

However, it is YOUR birthday, right? Hmm. Tough call!

While I like WCC I would NEVER give up Artist Point to go there. AP is fabulous. It's some of the BEST food I've ever had. That being said, if you're tired of "fancy" food (sometimes I just want a hamburger) then WCC might be a good choice, but I'd give up ohana or narcossees before I'd give up AP

Shelly

Yeah, I am thinking about doing AP another night when it is just me and my BF. If I can't move the PS, I wll keep AP on Saturday.

Thanks for the help everyone.

I agree with Uncleromulus. Fun and noisy place for a kid's birthday, but not very relaxing for an adult's birthday (unless your BF would really enjoy wearing a bandana hat and singing in front of others). Just my opinion...

Would they really MAKE him do that? I know he would never, he'd probably leave first. He won't mind if everyone else is getting razzed, but I don't want him to hate it.

I really want to go here because we LOVE BBQ, and I really want to try out the skillet.

They won't MAKE him do it...but if he doesn't like to be razzed, WCC is the wrong place!

But how bad would it be? I don't think he would mind some stuff, but he would mind being made to do stuff. I thought I had read somewhere that you could tell them you didn't want to be messed with and they would leave you alone.

That's possible, but I can't say for sure. I've always participated.

My advice is: if you think he might not like it, don't do it. You don't want your birthday celebration messed up. There is A LOT of stuff going on there, none of it serene! Maybe you should do AP for your birthday and try WCC another night?

Good luck!
Bob

But I would rather do that on my birthday when my friend is there. We are all kids at heart. We'll have enough quiet meals the rest of our trip.

We'll be in at the end of the night so not sure if it would be as crazy. Plus, since it is my birthday, I think it's the only day he would agree to a place like this.
