Some servers will play 'games' with you. From Deb Will's web-site....

Rumor has it if you want to "enhance" your experience -- try one or more of the following. IMPORTANT -- these are just suggestions! Depending on how busy the cafe is, servers may not be able to engage in tomfoolery!

PLEASE Note: It has been brought to our attention that someone reprinted this list and then got very upset with their server when all of the items mentioned below were not part of their dining experience. PLEASE don't expect your server to do this entire list or even anything from the list! it is merely a recap of what has produced some interesting antics from previous guest experiences. Whispering Canyon is a themed restaurant and chances are your server may engage in some tomfoolery. But please use this only as a guide for possibly having fun and not a list of expectations! Thank you!

Wear a Hat or T-Shirt from Universal or Sea World
Ask your server where his 6-shooter is
Tell your server you spent the day at an attraction outside of WDW
Tell the server who's birthday or anniversary it is
Have your kids "egg him/her on"
Have one of the males in the group ask where the restrooms are
Challenge your server to a pistol fight and ask for a gun
Claim your straw is not long enough
Chew gum
Ask the server where you can buy some chewing gum in WDW

You will have SO much fun. I remember my mom couldn't decide on something while ordering so the waiter gave her all this pretend attitude about taking so long. Then she made the mistake of asking him a question, he picked up a napkin, wrapped it around her head like a bandana and stuffed the front of it with about 12 straws that stuck straight up into the air. It was our anniversary and my DARLING mother leaked that info to our waitress (this was a different time we were there) and they made my husband and I get up and dance in front of everyone while the waiters/waitresses sang. I was trying to take a picture of my husband while we were at the table and at the last second our waitress jumped right in and leaned her head right next to my hubby's. It was funny!

I've seen a table LOADED with ketchup bottles. If you ask for it they will take it off every single table in the restaurant and give you ALL of them.

It's just a very friendly environment, lots of fun and good food!! You'll enjoy it!!

Shelby :thumbsup2

pooh2001 makes good points about not expecting hijinks of any sort. We've been twice and neither time have we had a server who was "fun," and once it was my wife's birthday which we made sure to mention. Worse, both times our server was not good at her primary job, either. We found the food palatable, but not memorable. . .and we've had both a la carte and the all-you-care-to-eat skillet meal.

Still, I'd recommend WCC if for no other reason than you can't truly know about a restaurant until you've tried it. What doesn't work for one family may be a great experience for another. So go and enjoy! paw:

WCC is definitely one of our most memorable restaurants. We loved it. It is the one place that everyone still talks about how much fun it was. I thought the food was delicious!!!! I had the skillet and chocolate cake for dessert. It was so good. Our server was so much fun. He was a big cut up. Also, there was a stick pony race around the restaurant for all the kids. At the end they gave them all a certificate, a great souvineer for our scrapbook. I can't wait to go there again!! :) :thumbsup2

We went twice on our last trip, when we stayed at WL. The first night, the server didn't really do much beyond serve us, no hijinx at all. But maybe that was due to my kids being very tired after the long trip. It was also their very first Disney experience; they had no clue what might happen and were not interested in the stick races or anything else.

The second visit on the same trip, we had a great server who acted appropriately. When my mom asked for a refill of her soda because she was "really thirsty", they brought her a bucket with an appropriately large straw, and announced to the entire restaurant that my mom was thirsty. The woman at the next table was called repeatedly "the beer lady" because she had two beers with dinner. The kids had a blast. And the food was pretty good.

We've made ADRs there for this trip even though we're not staying at WL because we enjoyed our time there last time.

A good meal and a good time! By the way, they usually don't put ketchup on the table, but they will get you some if you ask for it!

We loved it. We are going back again in Aug. It will depend on your waiter, but they have other activities for kids. My kids "competed" in a stick horse race that was alot of fun to watch. We have never ordered anything but the all-you-can-eat skillet. It is tons of fun and really good. We really is a fun place to eat

WCC is one of our 'must dos'! :thumbsup2
Yes, you can get quiet servers--just like at Prime Time. If your hearts set on runaway hijinks ask for a rowdy server & be prepared to wait. The chance of having to wait can be greatly cut if you make ADRs for either early or much later than the normal meal time~Some folks, whether shy adults or tentative children, actually like the mellow servers, I know I prefer to watch the fun & not have any attention focused on me this is impossible as DH & DS17 vote for wacky :bitelip: If a mellow waitperson is what you want, ask.

We do like the food--no, it's not gourmet & I'm sure every place has its offnites.
DH likes the skillets, I order the salads which are filling & fresh, DS17 likes the chicken sandwich & refillable milkshakes(which are real not shake mix)~

Watch out! those pony races can feature adults, too! :lmao:
Try talking on your cell phone while your server's at the table :teeth:
Or order a Pepsi..

Editing to say:
we go for lunch & during the 'slow' season

If you are looking for extra entertainment with your meal go for dinner as opposed to lunch. I had heard so many great things about WCC and we couldn't wait to try it...we have a lunch reservation and our waiter was not a hit at all...no gimmicks at all...just a regular meal...I saw a few things going on at other tables around us, but really not like I had heard. The restaurant was not crowded at all...maybe this had something to do with the low key staff.

WooHoo!! i made ressies today and cannot wait!!!! thanks so much for your input!!!

We ate there for supper and it was great! Our server was Lorha and she was not too roudy but did give DH a hard time. Here he is with his refill:

That thing was a 3 pint Mason jar! He loved it! BJ was at the table next to us and he was really into playing around with the kids. There was another waiter who I cannot remember his name (started with a J, Jeremy maybe?) but he was great! He gave this poor girl a really hard time and walked around to a few tables and did "smartie pants" jokes.

I know the ketchup has been mentioned and that was fun to watch. Also asking for extra straws and napkins will get results. Just be sure to not eat off of the all-you-can-eat skillet if you did not order it! You might wnd up in "jail" as a guy by our table found out! :lmao:

And let me tell you, the food there was the best we had at any of our meals! We we be adding this to our must do list when we go back to WDW.
