Whispering Canyon Lunch Concerns

We ate lunch there four days ago and all ordered different sandwiches. We really enjoyed them. The bottomless milkshake is still there. The only thing that we will change next time is the waitress. We have gotten the same one on our last three trips there and she is terrible. I will go back to eat there since we liked the sandwiches but I will request another waitress.

I had made an ADR for dinner there and cancelled. I understand the main draw is the fun factor which I thought my boys would enjoy. Problem is you can't guarantee you'll get a server who'll fully participate in the antics. Not only that, the food should at minimum be decent. I've read many many negative reviews of WCC over the past few months hoping I would see a change in the trend. Yes we have "Free Dining" but I don't want to waste a credit on bad food. Just my .02.

You should check the menu again on allears. They still have the nachos, they still have the veggie plate, no pork chops but it doesn't say anything about the shrimp with the skillet. Perhaps you were looking at the wrong menu????

Sorry: I have made this thread confusing. My original comment was about dinner - the menu is dated July 2007 on Allears. I updated it to try to help someone who was concerned about the lunch menu as Allears lists a lunch menu from May 2007. You are correct that the nachos, fish etc is still on the Allears lunch menu but has gone from dinner. If you read the thread, you will see that several people have commented on the shrimp with the skillet. I will try to be less confusing when I post in the future.

I'm still debating. Has anyone PM'd our friendly fellow DISer Suzannews, (since she works there, she would know the correct menu, if the bottomless shakes are still available on the DDP, and how costumers are reacting to the new menu)?

I'll be having lunch at WCC this Saturday, and as long as I remember I will take notice of the menu, including whether the kids skillet is on there or not, as well as the nachos.

I just hope they haven't changed the menu. :confused3

And we need a milkshake report. :goodvibes

It appears now they have added back to the kid's menu listing on allears. Earlier it cut off at pick one and then didn't list anything below it, mayber they were updating it while I pulled it up. Who knows stranger things have happened.
Don’t I know it! You must have missed the uproar here a month or so ago, when that site had an updated Le Cellier menu that didn’t include the Mushroom Filet!!
Your thought that maybe the menu was being actively updated online while you were reading it is probably 100% accurate. We all need to remember that, while no unofficial site which provides Disney menus would make changes without proof (e.g., an actual menu being sent to them, or a photograph, or in the case of WDWinfo.com – the DIS home site – actually going to the restaurant and seeing the menu live), the updates are made by people, and people make mistakes. Except us DISers, of course ;)

We've always enjoyed WCC on our trips and made it for our first night this time (we're staying at WL). I just checked the menu and was sad to see that they have eliminated some options and changed some around.

But as long as the skillet is still available for kids, I think we'll be okay. My son will not eat shrimp so if he chooses the skillet, I'll have them leave it off completely. And I don't eat them so if DH and I have it, he'll eat all of them ( or none if they aren't that good).

As for the appetizer, I've enjoyed the nachos, but sometimes, they have all of the good stuff in the center and the remainder of the platter of chips are dry and overdone. So I think we'll do the chicken wings (if one of us gets a regular item) or the kids will have to manage w/o an appetizer (neither eats salad and don't like the soup). I'm sure they won't starve.

Tried to change the ressie and wanted to shift 'Ohana up (we have it later in the week but will probably cancel for other reasons) and there was nothing before 9:25 PM. Much too late for a 9 and 5 yo.

Oh, well, we'll make the best of it. BTW, our trip is 8/18-8/25.

I will be going in September and this is the one place I am really excited about. I have a friend who has been and loved it! I have never been so I have nothing to compare it to. Im gonna go open minded and hope that we enjoy ourselves. I decided not to let all the negative reviews make me worry. Because if I did that, I would be starving and eating peanut butter crakers the whole trip :goodvibes

Amen to that!!! We are going in 2 weeks, eating at WCC. And we will be paying for it (DDP), I'm not gonna get that upset about any meal.....menus change, meals are bad or good sometimes, servers are poor sometimes,,,,,It is one meal in your lifetime of thousands......it'll be all right!!!

Hello...the kids skillet is still on the menu. Bottomless shakes are still available and yes are included on the DDP. The new dinner menu started on 7/1 and changes are being made as needed. We have received very positive feedback from guests. If you dine at WCC and have a problem with your dinner, milkshake, server, etc, please talk to a manager that night. Thats how most changes are made.
