What do you like about the restaurant, and what do you not like about the Whispering Canyon?

Did you kids like it?

Our family enjoys it very much. It’s loud, it can be silly (depending on the server...and this was pre-covid, not sure how much of their antics they are still doing), the food was pretty good comfort food in decent quantities. We make a good mix of different type reservations so we know that this one is more of a loud/fun standard dining. Our kids liked the food and laughed quite a bit - they’re teenagers now and still like to go. We have enjoyed both breakfast and dinner here.

We had dinner there recently, and there were no antics, but we had great service. The food was a good value for the all-you-care-to-eat skillets. I liked the classic skillet best though I'm still thinking about the corn bread. It was almost cake-like.

We had breakfast and dinner there last month. The food was just ok with dinner being quit a bit better. We had the breakfast platters and the brisket was without a doubt from the day before.

I've enjoyed breakfast more than dinner here. We get the skillets and have always enjoyed them.

First time dinner last week. I would have to agree that the Nachos were good. I had the ribeye and shared with one of my kids. He said that it was the "best steak ever". Everyone else had a skillet. We took those leftovers back to the room and made sandwiches with the generous portions.

Love the fact that it’s in CCV which is our home resort. The skillets are amazing! Staff is extremely nice and accommodating. Kid friendly. Nothing bad to say about it.

I'm DVC. Wilderness Lodge is our home resort. Been going to Whispering Canyon for 20 something years and it's never been more than just okay for us. We will stop going for a long time, then give it another try and we've never said "wow! can't wait to go back." Though the endless milkshakes are good.

Whispering Canyon is one of my favorites. Being a Southern, the skillet is just the best!

I have gone there every trip since WL opened (probably 10 times) and it's a great place if you don't mind the cheesyness.

Not sure if they still do the kiddo activities (KETCHUP!!!) and I'm sure some southerners here would question the "BBQ", but for $34 for a skillet, it's a decent Disney deal for sure.

Staying at the WL in June and will be eating there for breakfast for sure. It's $5ish more than the quick service and you get an actual server and sit-down service.

Unfortunately, at this time, they do not yell for ketchup or do any fun things with the kids. When we went in November, it was by far the quietest trip to that restaurant we ever we had!

Never been. Need to check it out when it gets back to normal. Sounds like fun

Is this just due to Covid? I thought I had heard at one point they were going to limit or eliminate the antics because they were not considered PC or something. (I don't know what's not PC about ketchup?) I hope the antics aren't gone for good... but trying to decide if we should visit this restaurant on our next trip for just the food or wait until next time in the hopes that they bring back some more fun. We've never been, but it sounds like the wild atmosphere pre-covid was a huge part of the experience.

We’ve been twice. Once right before Covid and once in November. Both times I was pleasantly surprised. The time we went before Covid it was loud and they were doing the ketchup gag, but our server didn’t do anything for us (which was totally fine). They also had the times kids would get out of their chairs and ride ponies etc. Our last time they didn’t do any of that, but both times I thought the food was really good. Honestly it’s not one of those places you hear people recommend so I was expecting mediocre food. However our food was delicious. We got dinner skillets both times. WL also has great atmosphere, so I think it’s worth a visit even during Covid if you think the menu is something you’ll enjoy.
