So were thinking about eatting at the WCC but i've heard some mixed reviews about it and am very unsure. Theres going to be four adults going and im afraid it may be too kiddish. If any one can help that would be great

WCC is a family place but it is not "kiddish"... It is loud and lively which makes it great for families with kids.... But the menu is geared towards adults (including serving beer)...

DH and I went three times on our honeymoon and we loved it... The menu is small and the food is simple (nothing fancy here)..But the food they do serve is very good and atmosphere is great... That is, if you like a comfortable, log cabin feel with a loud background... Kiddish does not come to mind.

Go you will love it there. We are going in May with family of 12

It was lots of fun, not kiddish. Disney has a way of making most everything something for everyone. We ate at a character dinner at the Grand FLoridian last Sept and we had the best time with the stepsisters. They picked my son, 27, as their choice of an available male. It was great, not what I expected. Getting back to the point, the food is great too. Just being in the Lodge brings you to a new place.

We were a party of 4 adults and it was simply too loud. We couldn't keep a conversation without shouting.

6 adult group here and we hated it. Not only was the food unimpressive, the noise was unbelievable.

I think adults could have fun here if they were going for this specific atmosophere and enjoy watching people ride stick horses, yell about ketchup, etc. If you are going just to eat, I'd go to Plan B.

Will we go again? With kids in the group, absolutely. Without kids, not a chance.

Lots of people like it, but we do not. We've had three different meals there--one really fun because of the great server, and two mediocre. The last one (2006) was the worst because of super slow service and not good antics. My son couldn't wait to get out of there because of the noise. It's not necessarily for kids, but it is super loud, and food quality varies.

DD7 loves it, but DH and I would not go there without her. If I were having an adult only meal, I'd choose somewhere else. It is very loud at WCC.

We just got back and went to WC on Saturday, I was so looking forward to this place! I didn't tell my family about it at all.

We get there and the place is silent!!! I thought maybe it was just the snack bar area or something, but no it was the restaurant.
Every table had a ketchup bottle on it, so the ketchup gag wouldn't work. It was just completely silent, I couldn't believe it after hearing the reviews on here.

Our waiter was ok, he would sneak up behind one of us and watch us eat, he did yell at my husband for whispering something to me. That was about it. He did toss the straws in the center of the table too. I guess I was just expecting much more.

We did go on Saturday at lunch, and it was a full restaurant. But I was watching other waiters, and they did nothing! There were two female waitresses that did get into it a bit with their tables, but still not much.

Maybe I'd try dinner next time, but for the price etc I was disappointed.

I also was so looking forward to my husband getting a giant drink! He drinks his pop so fast so I knew it would be coming! Nope, nothing! He just got refill after refill of regular cups.

That is disappointing...9 of us are going in October and I'm making our ADRs tomorrow morning and I've been so excited about going here just for the gags etc but now I don't know if I want to waste a whole night here or go somewhere else...what to do???? Shoot!!

I would still give it a shot, it's probably a real hit or miss thing and depending on your server.

I'd try it again, maybe for dinner. I'd give them one more chance!

This is a must eat for us on every trip. We have gone with different people everytime and walked away with a great experience. I highly recommend at least trying it once.

If your group is of the sort that would play along and doesn't mind the noise, I'd say go for it. I can totally see my husband and I (and our friends) going with or without our kids. But, if you are wanting a nice sit down restaurant with a nice selection of food and a quiet atmosphere, you should probably look into somewhere else. We loved the skillet, but we are total meat eaters that could do without vegetables all together (unless it's battered, fried, and served with more meat).

We ate at WCC last June and we loved it. We went for a late lunch and the restaurant had people in it but it was not crowded or loud at all. The waitress was great and picked on my husband the whole meal as it was his birthday. The food for the adults was great. We had the skillet and loved it. We ate until we couldn't eat anymore. COming from Texas where BBQ is oh so good I have to say the WCC did a great job with the BBQ. The kids were not all that impressed with the food as they did not serve chicken
nuggets or strips.

We are returning to WDW again this June and are considering going there again.

My suggestion would be to try it.

Agree. We tried it once and once is it for us. We noted major issues in getting seated and service once you were seated at your table. This was at lunch time too. We found the noise coming from loud-drunk adults who used mental and in some cases written notes of the antics they should attempt to que with the waitress. One table of drunks consume our waitresses time. All of her other tables were ignored so if anyone wanted refills of drinks, skillet or bottomless milkshake..you were out of luck.

I've been to WCC for both lunch and dinner and dinner is definately more lively and noisey. Lunch is pretty quiet and subdued.

I like WCC - one main reason is it's in WL and I love that resort and lobby. It's a family restaurant but not too kiddish. It can get loud and and if you get a good waiter it can be alot of fun.

The food is good - nothing special but good. They have an all-you-can eat family style skillet which is BBQ type food. We usually order this and it's good. They also have an ala carte menu.

I think WC is more for atmosphere than food quality - don't get me wrong - it's good, but not the best Disney has to offer. But I do like this restaurant - I think it's fun and I always enjoy it. I have my ADR for WCC for my trip this year.

Holy canolli!?!?!?!?! :scared: Are you kidding me? I booked Whispering Canyon in place of one of the character buffets I cancelled (because of the price gouging...mho!). My older son is SO finicky! Chicken strips and nuggets are the ONLY meat he will eat.

I know that sounds crazy, but it is true! I booked WC because I saw nuggets listed on the children's menu I saw. I'm not sure if I saw it at allears or another site.

Now I'm in a panic! Is this a recent change? I need to rush over to the menus now and check the recent changes. Criminintly! :scared1:

Here I thought we were good to go. My travel agent called today to tell me I can go pick up my Disney paperwork today...it came in about 2 weeks earlier than expected. So much for having everything wrapped up!!!

Okay, all, if this is true, where do I take my 7 and 12 year old in place of WC????

2 adults here and we both love it. :thumbsup2 However, we really enjoy all the antics, and although it wasn't loud when we were there noise isn't a concern for us.

The last time we went, we had a late breakfast and thought the food was very good. I tried Corned Beef Hash for the first time and loved it, and DH stuffed himself silly with an AYCE skillet.
