Hi!

I would like to try WCC for breakfast but I am no fan of the antics (tried dinner...) I'm also not a fan of eating "in the lobby" (the small section completely appart that gives on the hallway of the lobby).

I read somewhere that they usually start the antics around 8:45 AM. So I booked 8:00 AM.

Are we going to have a nice and quiet breakfast IN the dining room?

Thanks in advance.

Can't say I know about the 'timing' or location for dining, but I'm 100% with you on not caring for all their antics!

We ate there for dinner one evening and were totally turned off from ever going back there again. You would think the waiters would 'catch on' to who enjoys the 'goings on' and who would rather just enjoy their meals and be left alone.

Have no problem with others that enjoy it, but we didn't, so will not be returning, especially since our skillet meals were greasy. Could have been an 'off' night, so would have tried again, had it been just not caring for the meal.

We actually ate there and didn't really experience any of the "antics." It was early afternoon. Food was decent and not too expensive.

You are taking a chance.

And even if YOU are spared the "antics" you still have to sit there and see and hear the "antics" at other tables.

I think this is the key point. Not sure you can expect the antics to start at any given point, as I'm guessing that it is up to the servers and how frisky they are feeling early in the morning. Most of the servers will respect your desire not to participate and will not give you a hard time about it....BUT....as noted above, you won't be able to stop the rest of the restaurant from enjoying WCC for what it is meant to be. As far as the antics go, I could take them or leave them (my kids love them)...I just truly enjoy the food, particularly the skillets at dinner. As for breakfast, they do have two or three things that are fairly unique, so I think it's just a matter of whether those items are worth the risk of having "energetic" neighbors and servers in the restaurant that early in the morning. Gotta believe that at 8:00, the restaurant would already be pretty busy with people trying to get to a park by 9:00. For a restaurant with a similar feel/flavor, it might worth taking the boat over to Trail's End at Fort Wilderness and enjoying their buffet (which is a pretty good deal).

When we were there for dinner last month, the waiter gave us a card at the beginning of dinner that looked like a coaster. One side had a red mark on it and if that was face up, they would not do any antics with you. If the other side with the green mark was showing, it meant you wanted to participate. I felt so sorry for the kids at the table next to us when my son asked for ketchup and we had 17 bottles delivered...they looked like they wanted nothing more than to get up and participate with the rest of the kids but their parents were too buried in their cell phones to notice :(

We've done WCC a few times now as two adults. Our servers could tell straight away that we weren't up for the antics, and we barely got any, which we were glad about. However, we one time we were sat near the back in front of the fireplace and last trip we were sat in the back area near the hallway/lounge that you mention. Not sure if they reserve this area for folks like us or what, but I would request you want to be in the main dining room.

Why did you consider Whispering Canyons? Is it because you're staying in the resort? If not I would not go there. I will try Trails end or Boma before considering even going to this restaurant.

As others have said, even if you do not participate, you will still see and hear everything that is going on around you. That being said, I don't know if there is a set time when the antics start or stop. I honestly think it has to do with the servers and the guests. I had a very late breakfast there one time and there were only about five tables filled in the main dining room. The server tried to do some antics, but there just weren't enough tables to make it work, so they stopped. So it could also work that if you're there at the end of the meal and it's empty enough, nothing will happen.

I did breakfast at WCC a few years ago during mid-November when it was not too busy at the parks. We had a very early breakfast time and there were not too many people in the restaurant at the time. There were still antics going on but nothing extremely crazy at the time. As we were ending our breakfast, they were getting busier and more full on with the antics.

I don't mind what they do with other people, really. It's just that DH and I are not really into that kind of stuff. ;)

Love the cards idea. I hope we get one. XD

Last time we were there, they gave us this little card to flip over on the table if we did not want to participate in the antics.

Went in July and was giving the card. For my family the antics is kind of why we go. Of course I have 2 13 yo girls so they like the antics. The food is good (though I have only been for dinner). My view of the food was there is better out there at other restaurants for each individual item but none of it was bad and the price is about in line with what you would pay when you consider you get a salad with the skillet.

Yes, we are staying there. We've tried it before for dinner. Did not care too much for the dinner but saw the reviews for breakfast and would like to try it.

We are having breakfast at Boma in the morning, then we check-in WL. It's our favorite breakfast in WDW. :) We wanna have breakfast in WWC the next day.
