Hello all. Trying to decide whether to book a lunch or dinner ADR at Whispering Canyon. Looking to try out their all-you-can-eat skillet. Is there a difference between the lunch or dinner versions? Price is $7.00 cheaper at lunch.

I don't think so. it's all you care to eat and the same things are on it.

The only difference to me would be when you want to have such a big meal. You will be tempted to eat a LOT. So does it work best in your plans to have it at lunch (will you go walk it off at the parks, or like me, need a nap) or at dinner.

My wife and I would most likely split the meal with one of us ordering the skillet and the other a smaller plate (not sure if that's allowed). The only difference per their menu is the evening offering appears to include the beef strips. That's the deal killer for me. Wouldn't want to miss those. Hence my curiousity on the lunch/dinner difference.

you can't split an AYCTE meal but my guess is if she orders her own meal and you don't ask for seconds of anything that no one is going to slap the food out of her hand.

The Disney website shows lunch and dinner to be different;

Lunch -
Slow-smoked Pork Ribs, Barbecued Pulled Pork, Roasted Glazed Chicken, and Western-style Sausage served with Mashed Yukon Potatoes, Corn on the Cob, and Cowboy-style Baked Beans
Dinner - Starting with Family-style Mixed Greens tossed in an Apple Vinaigrette Dressing and Fresh-baked Cornbread. Featuring Slow-smoked Pork Ribs, Barbecued Pulled Pork, Roasted Glazed Chicken, Beef Brisket, and Western-style Sausage served with Seasonal Farm Fresh Vegetables, Mashed Yukon Potatoes, Corn on the Cob, and Cowboy-style Baked Beans

It looks like you dont get any brisket at lunch

yeah, there is always one meat missing for lunch. Usually Brisket.

I remember on my daughters graduation trip, they had ran out of the sausage so we got little buckets full of ice and peel and eat shrimp instead. Thought that was a weird replacement for a BBQ place for dinner but they were tasty so I went with it.

i think if you order another small plate they wont say a thing to you

They're actually fairly strict about it. They might let you snag a piece of corn on the cob or something occasionally, but they're not in the practice of allowing people to share that meal....even if the "sharee" orders a small meal themselves. It's "all you care to eat", not all you and someone else care to eat.

Not literally. But they do monitor and limit it. Could be pretty embarrassing

Do you (or anyone who has eaten lunch there) happen to know if everything else is the same at lunch, other than the brisket? Just want to make sure they have the cornbread for all our kids and the salad, for those of us that need a little ruffage with all that meat!

The salad has not been included in the lunch meal in all our visits up through last fall. That was always the difference in lunch and dinner....no salad and no brisket at lunch. Someone on another thread claims that they got the salad and the brisket at lunch last week, but I don't know. The menu reflects no salad or brisket at lunch.

How a bout the corn bread. I suppose the kids are the important ones to have at least SOMETHING I KNOW they will eat. I saw somewhere that Dad from Dadsguide said they did, but that is the only place.
Lunch just fits in better with our schedule that day, so I'm really trying to make lunch work. We are a party of 11, so trying to get everyone to agree to it. Lol!
Edit: also wanted to add, I've noticed the Epcot restaurant menus Re now all the same for both lunch and dinner. Maybe they have started doing that for all the restaurants.

I'm sorry, I don't remember about cornbread. While I absolutely LOVE cornbread, at a meal like that, we pretty much ignore it since it's basically a cheap "filler".

In November, there was cornbread for lunch. It wasn't listed on the online menu then either, but they did bring it to the table.
Thanks so much! The kids will be happy! Lol! Here's hoping they keep it like this! I had a 2:05 lunch and a 5:35 dinner.for 11 of us... Now I can try to get everyone to make a decision!

The server suggested this when we had lunch last year - we could split the AYCTE skillet if the other order was an entree salad, not just something small.

Seasonal All-You-Care-to-Enjoy Skillet - Featuring Slow-Smoked Pork Ribs, Barbecued Pulled Pork, Roasted Glazed Chicken, and Western-style Sausage, served with Mashed Yukon Potatoes, Cowboy-style Baked Beans, and Corn on the Cob. $23

MT's Chopped Salad - a mix of spinach, spring mix lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar, house-smoked turkey, and applewood-smoked bacon vinaigrette $18

In March H & I ordered the skillet and all 3 of my girls got kids meals. The server reminded us at least twice that if the kids at off the skillet they would have to be charged additionally (the price of the kids skillet AND their already purchased kids meal). However, they were "allowed" to eat the salad & cornbread as they weren't "on" the skillet.

This was at dinner.
