I just was able to get a WCC ressie - YAY! - but it's for 9:05pm. I have two little ones, and I'm planning aftenoon rest/naps, but it still is a bit late for us. So, my plan is to keep calling to see if we can get an earlier ressie (maybe 7:30-8:15 range).

But, what would happen if we arrived at the restaurant at 7pm and asked at the podium if we could be seated a bit earlier? Has anyone ever had luck doing this? I will also call the day of if I'm not successful before that in getting an earlier time.

Just looking for your thoughts/experiences.

Thank you!

Honestly, I wouldn't risk it unless you're staying at WL. You'll lose a lot of time and then find out you'll still have to wait.

Maybe you should just postpone going there - your little ones are really little and may not even enjoy the shenanigans. It's VERY crowded and very noisy. Then you'd have something new to do on your next trip!

It's a risk but I would definately give it a shot. The worse thing they can say is no or you might have a lil bit of a wait. I still keep calling. But 9 is late in my opinion. Good Luck. It's fun here.

I wouldn't count on it. We had a 5:15 ressie this past September and waited over 30 minutes for our table. From what I've read, they are always running past the ADR times. Wish I had known this prior to our going because, in the long run, the food wasn't worth it to us and we would have skipped.

We enjoy taking the family for lunch - we can still get our favourite all-you-care-to-eat skillet, and it's even cheaper for lunch time. We usually go for a late lunch so it covers lunch and dinner, maybe around 2-2:30 (I think lunch is until 3) - it's not as crowded and we love relaxing around the lodge when we're done. Just a thought!

Keep calling back.

I've had to change lots of ADRs for our upcoming trip... places like Les Chefs, Sci Fi, and yes, even Whispering Canyon...

While availability may not always be there, just call back another day, and you just might find something! I've called several times and gotten different options that were previously unavailable!

As for the wait... don't worry too much. There should be lots of surroundings to enjoy while you wait... and even some fun stuff for the kiddos.

Enjoy your trip! :goodvibes

As another poster said, they are always running behind. The last time we ate there we had to wait almost 40 minutes past our ADR time. The time before we made the mistake of doing what you are comtemplating and showed up about an hour early. We were told there was no way they could work us in. We round up sitting out by the pool for an hour, then when we did show up at our ADR time, had to wait another 30 minutes past our ADR time before we were seated.
