We make our ADRs in less than a week and we had been planning to eat dinner at O'Hana one night. I've been reading a lot of negative reviews lately so I'm second guessing our choice to eat there. How is WCC? Can someone who has been to WCC and O'Hana please tell me which one they enjoyed more? Thanks! :)

We enjoyed WCC more than O'Hana. We did enjoy O'Hana more before they changed the menu about 2 years ago. The menu is so limited, but the atmoshphere is great. Crowded, but great. WCC was super. The food was great. Esp. on the DDP, we ordered off the menu and got so much food and all of it was super, including the never ending milkshakes! The atmosphere was wonderful. So Disney. The kids did the pony express thing and got certificates, the waitress told the whole restraunt to be quiet because I was on the cell phone:eek: (I wasn't expecting that!) I didn't think I would like it, I thought it would be loud and obnoxious, but it was not at all. It was very fun and great!:) Food was terrific.

We have dined several times at both places. Whispering canyon has good BBQ type foods, where Ohana has good grilled foods. We prefer Ohana, and keep going back, the food is GREAT and our daughter loves the coconut rolling contest and hula hoop contest!:rose:

We have eaten at both several times and like them both. For the food, I would choose Ohana over WCC. Also at Ohana, if you time it right, you can see Wishes from the windows. They turn the lights down and pipe the sound in. It makes for a magical meal. WCC is a fun romping good time. Lots of laughs and food is good. Honestly you cant go wrong with either meal, just depends upon which atmosphere you feel like at the time. Either way, Enjoy!!

I enjoyed both of them and both of them had their downsides.

WCC - Loved the ribs! (my mouth waters now just thinking about it) The main thing I didn't like is that there wasn't enough room at our table for all of our food and plates and such. My oldest didn't take too well to the teasing by the Waitstaff (although dh and I thought it was funny). My middle son did the pony ride around the restaurant and had fun.

'Ohanas - Food was good although they bring it out way too fast (I was away from the table or else I would have asked that they hold off on it). The kids liked the "games". I wasn't feeling really well this day so I didn't get to fully enjoy the food (or dessert!). The atmosphere is more relaxed IMO than WCC. And it's nice to walk down to the beach afterwards.

I think overall we enjoyed WCC more, but 'Ohanas was close behind.

We have done Ohana's once and WCC on the last 3 trips. While both are good, we prefer WCC. We tried Ohana's with a party of 20 last year and we just felt very rushed. The food was good, but not great. We will give it another try on our next trip with a smaller group and see if it is any better. WCC is something that has become a routine for us. We go there for lunch the first or second day and share the skillet and all you can drink shakes. Just can't beat it.

I couldn't decide between the two so we are doing both on an upcoming trip!!

I am kind of in the same boat as you. We have Ohana booked for our dinner om our first night but latley I have read negative reviews a well. I had thoughbt about switching to WCC (if I can even get in). I guess I am not much help to you. I will say that we have a breakfast booked at WCC and a breakfast at Kona so at least we get to try both! I love both of the resorts and wanted to have a meal at each of them.

No question at all for us--'Ohana all the way.

We did not like our food at WCC last year, our service was not great, and no one in my family asked to return there this time around. We all enjoyed 'Ohana and have ADRs for next week...can't wait.

I agree w/ other posters that they really made you feel like they were trying to rush you out the door at Ohana's. I had read mixed reviews about Ohana and decided to book dinner there on NYE. The setting is wonderful and it always smells so good in there. They serve way too much food. I had a problem w/ how much was going to be tossed after we left. We were a party of 2 and they easily served enough food for 4 people. We asked not to have some of the courses and our server served them anyway. The chicken wings, salad and potatoes were excellent. I would go back if I could just get those 3 items. Everything else was either over-salted or tasteless. I don't know how you can get over-seasoned and under-seasoned food out of the same kitchen, but Ohana has mastered the art. I would have enjoyed fewer courses of better food than what they served. The place was packed so it obviously appeals to some. Not my idea of a good meal.

I've never at at WCC but I can tell you we've really enjoyed Ohana's. It was our favorite in Dec. We ate at 7 different table services and Ohana's was Dh's favorite of the week and my 2nd favorite. CRT was my 1st choice.

We haven't had WCC either, but we did have our first dinner at Ohana's in mid June, and it was excellent. We had a party of 4 and didn't feel rushed, had excellent table service, and all of the food was great. It will be our first ADR for our next trip. I have read that the menu was better years ago, but you can't really miss what you never had :)

Ohana was our favorite this trip. The food was better than what we had at WCC a few years ago.

Thanks for all the opinions :)

I think we're going to try WCC. DBF wants to see the inside of WL anyway and once he saw the bottomless milkshakes at WCC that kind of sealed the deal :rotfl:

We'll have to try O'Hana next time though!

I've dined once at both WCC and Ohana and while I enjoyed them both for different reasons, my vote goes to Ohana as far as the food goes.
