Hi friends,

I've heard some opinions on WCC at lunch vs. dinner (that lunch is more subdued, etc).

I'm wanting my kids to experience the ketchup, straws, etc. While the stick ponies would be fun, it's not necessary. If we are there and NONE of the antics are going on, I'll be disappointed.

Anyone been to WCC for lunch lately and have any info on if at least "some" of the fun is goin' on?

Thanks :)

We had lunch there and it was horrible...the food was just full of fat and unedible but to add insult to injury there were no antics going on at all!

A few tables had a large glass and a super small glass but there was no jokes, or gags, or fun. I had sucked down my ice tea so fast I thought that would get the server to give me a huge glass but it didnt.

Our server was Doc and he was a major dud.

If the food was any good I might go back but to go back just for good cornbread is not reason enough

To be honest, even at dinner there is a chance you won't have a ton of antics. It seems hit or miss depending on the server you get.

The Canyon is way more subdued during lunch then it is dinner. You may have some straws and napkins tossed on the table but there are no yells for ketchup or any of the loud stuff that happens at dinner.

Don't set yourself up for a disappointment...go for dinner

Anyone recommend a good time for dinner where the antics are likely to be better?

We simply LOVE 50's Prime Time Cafe for this reason. We've probably been there 6-7 times over the past several years and have experienced the following:

- DW was given a pitcher of Diet Coke to drink from after ordering 2 refills in quick succession

- I was made to stand up and sing "I'm a little teapot" including all the moves in front of our entire section (TWICE!!!)

- I was made to stand in the corner while being poked fun at by my entire section

- The kids at the table all had to clear their own plates, following our server to the kitchen and singing "Following the leader, the leader, the leader"

- My BIL had to clear all our entire table AS WELL AS the table next to ours for not taking off his baseball cap

- When presented with the bill, our server slapped me on the back and said (loud enough for the entire section to hear) "Make me proud, Dan".... when he picked up the check, he opened it right in front of us and said (again, loud enough for the entire section to hear, as if shaming them) "GOOD JOB, DAN"

We've only had one trip there were the "antics" were tame. Other than that, this is our signature restaurant for good (not great) food and outstanding atmosphere and interaction.

It's been a while since we ate lunch at WCC but I totally agree:thumbsup2

The best time we had was when our dinner ADR was for the first seating - I think it was around 5:30 pm.

And we had more fun during Breakfast then dinner. but i will say there was alot of larger groups when we went for breakfast-like 2 or more familes eating together it was a rowdy great time. now dinner was fun but breakfast was better.

Can you request the antics? lol

I made a ressie for 50's PTC as well!

I asked for ketchup and our waiter said they only do it at dinner! Can you say letdown? :sad2:

Are you serious? At that point I would have stood up and screamed, "Can't a person get some damned ketchup in this joint?!"

Okay, no I wouldn't....DH would divorce me. It would be funny though lol

We haven't had lunch in a few years, but we had the same amount of antics at lunch as dinner a couple years ago (straws, races, all the men doing a song and dance, bit mason jars of drink).

:lmao::lmao::lmao: Hysterical! I just saw your post! You may not have been able to do it in reality but it sure looks great on paper!

We actually had such a bad dinner experience at WCC that I said I would NEVER go back again BUT my grandson requested it so we went for lunch... We got plenty of antics even though there were only a few people there at the time (maybe 20 or so). The food was ok...not great but ok....My hubby had the pulled pork sandwich and said it was good... my daughter had the turkey sandwich which she said was Great... I had the skillet...that seems to be where you suffer the most chance of fatty food but I didn't eat some of the portions of rib but they brought more....The kids had a wonderful time with the interaction they got from the waiter...

We actually had just the right amount of antics for us at lunch at WCC. We got straws tossed at us (actually a few times), a reasonable amount of yelling and joking, and my brother got a giant glass of Coke. Our server also spent a lot of time teasing my sister about her 17th birthday. Sadly I don't remember our servers name but he was really great. The skillet was fantastic! One piece of ribs was a little too fatty for me, but other than that it was amazing.
