I was reading an old unofficial guide and it makes WC seem to serve predominantly all you can eat family style (their skillet thing). Is that what most order or is the rest of the menu popular/good too?

I don't know if a lot of people order off the menu, but I can tell you I wish we had. We did not like the skillet at all. I've read of people ordering the steak and really liking it, but I haven't heard much about anything else ordered beside the skillet.

My parents have done the Skillet several times, and really like it.

I've done it once, and it was alright, but next time (Sept) I'll be trying the steak. It just didn't thrill me enough to do it again.

I usually get the skillet and it is very good. Just make sure you tell them exactly what you want so they bring out enough on the seconds and they don't waste food!

My wife had the ribs last time and they were very generous with the serving. It looked like a whole rack!

You can't go wrong with either!

Does each person have to order the skillet or can 2 order them and one order off the menu?

Not to my knowledge. They bring out the serving of skillet x the # of people who ordered it. I'm sure they also wouldn't appreciate sampling off of it though, by anyone who didn't order it (sort of like, anyone who didn't order the salad bar at a 'regular' restuarant, can't eat off the plate of someone who did).

Like I said, I *know* my parents will order the skillet, possibly my dh, but not me!

We went for lunch and three got the skillet and I had the pulled pork sandwich. I am very glad I got what I did as it was very good, it was very moist and flavorful, although the other three did like the skillet as well. We were on the DXDP so we also had apps with our meal and both the tortilla chips with dips and the pulled pork spring rolls were wonderful.

Does anyone know if you can still order the soda in the souvenir mug with the glo clip light on? Any pics? We're working on a collection.

To the OP: I was having second thoughts about trying WCC too because the skillet meal doesn't appeal to me. I don't eat ribs so it's kind of pointless. I looked at the Allears menu and thought there was nothing much on there for me. However last night I checked The DIS menus and there are salads, sandwiches and plenty of other things on there.

I still don't know if it's considered bad form to order just an appetizer when you have a ressie there. I have booked the last lunch seating so hopefully if we are not too hungry it won't matter too much. Any input would be welcome though. :goodvibes

well, I am trying to figure if we have earliest dinner seating if my "man" people can order their skillet or ribs or steak and the kids and I can order sandwich from lunch menu. I started a thread a few weeks ago, but haven't gotten a lot of feedback

I think a lot of us have struggled with feedback on the selective questions. The boards are relatively quiet at the moment for some reason.

Not sure if I have got your question correctly, but the skillet is ordered per person so your "man" people can order the skillet and they will bring the appropriate portions (can be topped up as required). You don't all have to order the skillet though. I will certainly not eat it although I wouldn't mind the kids one too much. So I am planning to get my usual salad or an appy and DD can have whatever kids picks are there. It is really for the experience that we are going so although I want to enjoy my meal, I won't be devastated if it isn't the best we've ever had. I feel safe in that I don't think you can go too wrong with a salad ..... (unless you go to Liberty Inn at Epcot :rolleyes1)

The skillet is served at both lunch and dinner...if you prefer the lunch menu you could go during lunch...the skillet will still be available then.

My DH always gets the skillet (breakfast or dinner) and has them leave off the shrimp, I tend to order off the menu. For dinner I usually get the meatloaf and have yet to be unhappy about it.

Does the skillet come with shrimp? I didn't see on the allears menu where it did

I don't know that the menu currently on Allears for WCC is complete. I found a lot more on the one on The Dis.

As of Dec. '09 it did include shrimp in a little container but you can ask for the skillet without the shrimp.

If it is not busy at dinner, the chef will usually allow a couple of things ordered from the lunch menu like a pulled pork sandwich, a burger and sometimes a grilled chicken sandwich but thats usually it. If the kitchen is anywhere near busy, theres a good chance that it will not be possible or it could take an extra 15-30 mins. Check with your server.

To my knowledge there is no shrimp offered on the skillet. I think someone may be confused as to that.

We love WCC. My husband always gets the skillet, while I order the Ribeye steak. He likes his I like mine...lol

So not everyone has to do the skillet, they bring out enough for the ones that are on it.

I will say that when there for our honeymoon, I asked for a side of corn on the cob and our wonderful waitress told me, "honey he will have plenty", winked at me and said, "take one of his".
I thought that was so nice. Not to say that always happens, but she was great and really went out of her way to make our meal fantastic. Even gave us champagne for the celebration.

Here is what I say, if the menu appeals to you try it! We love it and the only way you will know is to go and see for yourself.

We loved the skillet when we had it in June. We went for dinner because I thought the skillet items looked better at dinner. We did not have shrimp on it. I wish it had.
