Which would you stay at?

I'm currently looking at the following accomodations:

I've been considering the follow hotels for our upcoming July/August vacation. From the Hotel Kingdom.com site: Grosvenor @ $98.90, Sierra Suites @ $94.90, Hawthorne Suites @ $99.90 and Hampton Inn @ $74.00. The Grosvenor has double beds, Disney Transportation, EE mornings etc. and no continental breakfast. The others all have queen beds, free continental breakfast and transportation to Disney. Hubby is a golfer so the kids and I have to rely on the supplied transportation to the parks.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

How many kids do you have? Because you may want to consider staying at one of the All-Star resorts in Disney which is lower than that price range. Check your dates also because you may qualify for a promo that's going on where All Stars are $45/night and moderates (i.e. Dixie Landings, etc.) for $119/night. You really can't beat staying on Disney property if that's the only park you will be going to!

My husband and I have stayed at Dixie Landings (which we loved!) and All Star Movies and didn't really notice a size difference in the rooms and enjoyed both hotels immensely!

Hope that helped?

klwdisney: Thanks for your reply. I have stayed at DXL twice and loved it. We were in Orlando just last week (stayed at HOJOMGE for a cheap trip) and would like to stay in a better hotel, for our summer vacation. We checked out the All Stars and through some opened doors got a peak at the rooms. Dh thinks they are too small (we have two boys 13 and 16) for us. However I haven't counted the All Stars out just yet, especially if I can get a discount rate. We are also considering camping at FW, in order to stay longer and for a different experience, but the weather can be a problem in the summer. Our summer vacation will be the 4th trip in a year, so we are looking for ways to cut costs. I'm addicted to Disney and Dh will go anywhere he can play golf! So, I'm looking at all my options and thought these hotels sounded interesting, each in their own way. :)

Are you able to bid thru Priceline? My brother got the Grosvenor last August thru Priceline for $24/nt.

tinaluis: that's a great rate! I read on the Canadian Board that some have tried successfully to use Priceline. They have to enter their address a little differently, since the site is geared for US addresses, but apparently it's gone through. The only thing is that there are 4 of us and we would have to get 2 rooms since Priceline doesn't guarantee two beds, which I guess if the rate was cheap enough would be okay.

Anyone have a preference in the hotels I have listed above? :)

If it were me, I'd go for a hotel with breakfast. I don't know about anyone else but it SIMPLIFIES life so much to have breakfast included. Not only the savings but the time. Even if you have a restaurant on premises... it's the whole round everyone up, sit down, decided what you want and wait for it. I love being able to just run in (usually not looking my best for thing in the am!) and grabbing something from a buffet to run back to the room. Or the kids can just go and get their own!

Priceline doesn't gaurentee two beds, but you can request two beds just like any other reservation. I have had no trouble requesting (non-smoking, beds, etc) I would consider it. Very good way to go.

Without a car I'd favor on site hotels (All Stars) or DD (Grosvenor). Most off site hotel shuttles are scheduled and limited.
