Which would you rather do?

If you could only choose one of these activities which would you do. The carriage ride at POR or renting surry bikes? It will be me, husband and our 3 yr. old son. My husband says we have to choose one or the other and I am not sure which would be more fun for us. Any input?

if you intended to rent surry bikes at POR - then I would go with the carriage ride.

however if you intend to rent surry bikes at BW - then I might go with the surrey bike.

The surrey bikes are very heavy to ride and as they start out to be a casual fun time by the time you are finished it is quite a workout. I tried it with my two sons (12 & 14) and we had to get off the bike and push it. SO I would vote for the carriage ride.

Thanks for the advice. I hadn't thought about renting the bikes at the BW. We are staying at POFQ and I figured we might just try one of those things on a day we weren't going to the parks. Of course I don't want to be pushing it all the way back either :rotfl:

I'd go with the carriage ride! After long days in the parks, being pulled around is preferable to having to do the work yourself! ;)

We took a carriage ride on our July vacation. We went on our first night there, around 9:30. It was a great kickoff to our vacation. So relaxing and romantic - even though we had 3 kids with us. The kids thought it was awesome. My youngest boy was watching for alligator eyes in the water the whole time. I would do it again if/when we go back.

In response to another poster, we saw several families pushing their bikes up certain parts of the trails. It did not look relaxing. The families looked exhausted. But everyone likes different things.

Have fun!

Definitely the carriage ride! We took one at POR this past June and it is SO relaxing. Just listening to the clip clop of the horse's hooves is relaxing, lol.

I would do the thing I can't do at home. For example, I have a bicycle at home perhaps not a surry bike however I do not have a paddock of horses which can pull me in a carriage. Perhaps if you had a paddock of horses and no bike you would opt for the surry bikes. And if you had both horses and a carriage and a bike at home than do whichever you feel you would enjoy more. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

I'd do the carriage ride because they're a more unusual treat. The only other place I've ever done it was in Central Park in NYC.
