Of your three options I voted for a Moderate. We are not fans of the Values, but the Deluxes are not worth what Disney charges now days. I wished you had listed 'Other' as a third option though.
Last fall we discovered offsite and I can't see us ever going back onsite. I was one who said I would never stay offsite. I'd stay home first. However, just a few weeks out from our Oct/Nov trip a coworker offered me a week at Westlake Town Center in a one bedroom condo for just $400.00. It was just too good of a deal to pass up, so we canceled the CBR reservation we already had booked and decided to give offsite one try. We loved the peace and quiet of the condo and having all that extra space at a Deluxe resort. As soon as we came back, I canceled the WDW resort I had booked for our May trip and started looking for offsite options. I then discovered how cheap Wyndham Bonnet Creek timeshares were, if you went through a third party. I got a one bedroom deluxe for $895.00 for ten nights (and found out later I could have gotten it even cheaper). We tried Bonnet Creek for the first time and fell in love. After making several trip a year down there and staying onsite, we finally found our resort home. Last month I went ahead and booked a one bedroom at Bonnet Creek for eight nights in Sept for $595.00 and then again for ten nights in Dec for just $600.00. For an average of about $66.00 per night I can get a fully equipped one bedroom condo with full size appliances, washer/dryer, two TVs, seperate bedroom/living room area, dining area, king size bed, walk in shower, jacuzzi tub at a Deluxe resort with six very nice swimming pools, several pool slides, multiple hot tubs, two lazy rivers, and free mini golf course that is still within the Disney gates for less than I would pay for just a Value resort through WDW. We like renting a car and have annual passes, so park parking is free anyway. There is no way we will pay $300.00 for a so called Deluxe room at WDW when we can get a much bigger (and much nicer) one bedroom condo for around $70.00/night and be just as close as alot of the WDW resorts. My Sept trip is a solo trip and I really don't need or want the space of a one bedroom condo, but I can't see paying more for a WDW Value resort than what I can get a one bedroom condo at Bonnet Creek for. At BC I would be closer than the value resorts to all the parks, except AK.
Why pay more for less? For my Sept trip a one bedroom villa at BC is costing me $595.00 (74.00/night---and we're paying just $60.00/night for a one bedroom for our Dec trip). I just checked the WDW site for the prices for a basic standard room at a Value, Moderate, and a Deluxe for my dates. With taxes, a standard room at Pop is $1039. ($130.00 per night), a standard room at POFQ is $1635. ($204/night), and a basic room at WL (one of the cheaest Deluxe resorts is $2623 ($328/night). Even for a solo trip where I'm not in the room much it makes alot more sense to pay $74.00 per night for a bigger, nicer one bedroom villa at a nicer resort than $130., $204., or $328./night for one of WDW values, moderates, or deluxes. Having a washer and dryer in the room, makes it so easy to just toss a load in in the morning and then put them in the dryer when you come in, allowing us to easily use just carryons, saving on baggage fees also.
