We are either booking Carthay circle or wine trattoria for lunch the day we want to see WOC. It will be myself, DH and our 4 year old. I can't seem to decide which to reserve for next month. Help. Any opinions? :listen:

Are you reserving FOR WOC or is WOC just a happy bonus? Would you eat at one of these even if you didn't get a WOC FP?

Would do Wine Country just because of our bad experience at Carthay Circle!

I had a bad experience at Carthay too. However, if you haven't seen it, and have a few hours to spare, it might be worth it. (few hours is snark... kind of...)

I find Wine Country to be pretty underwhelming as far as food and atmosphere go.

We went to Carthay Circle the day after it openend and had an amazing experience, it is pricey, but worth it in my opinion.

If you have a bad experience, definitely talk with the manager. If the food is bad, ask to speak with the Chef, they definitely don't want things to go badly there and we found them to be very accommodating of both a diabetic and vegetarians/vegans that were in our group. Admittedly, accommodating diabetics is something that the Disneyland Resort needs to do better at, including here, but they did at least have a couple dessert options.

I went to Wine Country Trattoria for the WOC dining. Atmosphere was actually rather informal. However the service more than made up for that - it was very good and very fast! Food-wise my starter (salad) and dessert were amazing, but didn't like my main (lasagne) as much. The portions are very good and went from very hungry to very full after the meal.

Good question, but a bit hard to answer. If just DH and I, I would probably pick carthay since we've not eaten there before. But if it's a long lunch and not as kid friendly then it won't be so much fun. Been to wine trattoria but so many years ago and I don't remember it. We've got to eat lunch somewhere that day and want to see WOC, so we thought that the dining experience was a good idea.:thumbsup2

If neither option sounds good for lunch, skip both and just get a FP. The dinning option many get you a closer view but you still have get there an hour early to get a good spot to stand. Having the dinner package does not guarantee you a good spot.

Hands down, Carthay. I've eaten at both and our experience at Carthay was amazing, food was superb, service was spot on, we never had empty water glasses as the staff is always watching and refilling, if we ever looked like we needed something we had someone asking if we were OK within seconds. And the restaurant, while not packed, was certainly busy. We did lunch and wouldn't hesitate to go back. And the WoC preferred area, we really liked it, not super crowded and very easy to see the show. WoC is second only to F! for me and F! is only that awesome because of the dragon. LOL ;)
