My bf and I are going to Disney from Dec. 8-16 and staying at POLY for the first time. We are going to be on the dining plan so we will have 8 TS credits. We have booked extra TS meals and were planning on paying a few OOP but think we may be spending too much OOP. I was hoping some of you could give me your opinion on which to eliminate. It will be jsut us 2 except for meal which I've noted. There are some we are definitely set on but let me give you the full run down anyway so you have the full picture:

DAY 1: Epcot/LeCellier dinner 7pm(1TS)/Illuminations/EMH
DAY 2: Disney Studios EMH/Kona for a late lunch 2:15pm(OOP)/Pleasure Island at night
DAY 3: Early character breakfast at Chef Mickey's 7am(OOP)/EPCOT/Dinner at Ohana 5:30 pm (1TS)
DAY 4: AK EMH/Mama Melrose FDP 4:30pm(1 TS)/Fantasmic/Osborne lights
DAY 5: Sleep in/CRT dinner 5:20pm(OOP)/MVMCP
DAY 6: Breakfast at Ohana's 9am(OOP)/visit monorail resorts/AK evening EMH/late dinner at JIKO 8:30pm(2TS)
DAY 7: MK EMH/Coral Reef Candle Light Processional 5:10pm(1TS)
Day 8: World Showcase/San Angel Inn Lunch 1pm(OOP)/California grill late dinner 8pm(2TS)

Ones we are set on and using 7 of our 8 credits for:
LeCellier: we love it!
Ohana Dinner and Coral Reef: bc we are joining family for these two meals
Jiko and California Grill: yes we have 2 that are 2 TS each but we love California Grill and really want to try Jiko.

Ones we could eliminate and the reasons why I originally picked them:
Kona - it would be convenient and I have heard good things
Chef Mickey's Breakfast or Ohana breakfast(not both):We have not tried either yet but have really wanted to, Ohana would be very convenient but I have heard Chef Mickey's is very good too.
San Angel Inn- We are going to world showcase that day and though it would be a romantic stop
Mama Melrose: we really like the Fantasmic Dinner Package but not sure if we want to go to this restaurant again. Right now we have this as our 8th TS credit.

One we are not sure about:
CRT dinner - My bf and I are going to the MVMCP that night and thought it would be romantic and my bf really wants to go. However we have seen some bad reviews and it is expensive.

With the way our plans our now we still think we should be able to use all of our CS credits or at least most of them. But we would like to cut back on the OOP spending on TS meals so we are trying to eliminate at least 2 if we can. Or if we eliminate CRT we may leave the others as they are.
Sorry this was so long, I would appreciate any suggestions.

It seems to make sense to pay oop for breakfast, since it is usually the least expensive meal.

Your plan sounds really fun--have a great trip!

:thumbsup2

So, I would eliminate San Angels, but then, that's just a preference. The atmosphere is great, but the food is only average...

Sorry--I posted before I meant to...

You have some great places on your list.

I always say CRT is a must do once, just to say you have dinned in the castle. The experience is one of a kind in my book. The food was not that great at lunch, haven't tried dinner there.

Maybe cancel a place you have already eaten at before? I know its hard, believe me. When ever I'm planning a trip, the usual fantastic places come to mind, and its hard not giving in. :teeth:

Mama Melorose....When we went there we thought the food was average and the service was terrible!

Chef Mickey's for breakfast. It's more about characters and the food is okay. I prefer the dinner then the breakfast.

Last trip I put it all on a spreadsheet LOL! - because I too like extra TS meals and 2 TS meals - Love Boma, Narcoosees, California Grill, Brown Derby(we had our best meal there surprised us a lot!) and Citricos. so I looked at all the menus, decided upon a general selection of what we might choose and what the cost was for each and from that was able to determine the best use of the TSs! You can imagine what a time consuming task that was! I had a lot of fun! When all was said and done to get the best bang for my buck I decided to pay OOP for the least expensive 2 TS restaurant - which came out be the Brown Derby. Now I have to tell you I cannot guarantee that that is the best method - and it would also depend upon what you think you would eat at each place, but that worked for us. At least I felt good about how I chose to pay OOP for which places.

Either Mama Melrose or Chef Mickey's bfast.

I think CRT dinner is very expensive but since you've never been there it's a must do for experience.
San Angel has a very neat ambiance, so that's a good one to do too. Altho the food isn't that great.

Mama Melrose however is not anything special.
Chef Mickey bfast I think is not as good as other bfasts in property (Crystal Palace, Ohana).
