Which would you do?

I'd say 50's PT. Depends if you're prepared to have a bit of fun (sometimes at your own expense). How much you enjoy it will also depend if you get a good server. Ours was great and 50's PT is now on our must do list for next time round. Try the pot roast. Mmmmm. Yummy. ::yes::

I'm not a huge fan of either, but i would choose 50's. Sci Fi is more of a lunch place. I didn't really like the food at either though.

You will get so many mixed opinions about Sci Fi, personally I love it. DH not so much, he got the ribs, they're not great. Stick with the basics burgers onion rings and milk shakes you can't go wrong. The burgers are fantastic. I'm sure the sandwiches are o.k. also. I haven't been to the 50's but it's on my list for my next trip.

I'm always amazed at how many people hate this place and that. I've done the food reviews at the food threads for years, and I can say having ate at about 95% of the restaurants (both CS & TS) in the parks, and about 30% of the ones on properties, I have had only ONE bad meal EVER. I had a rude and hateful server a couple times, but even then the meal was still OK. The only bad meal we ever had was at Pizza Planet, but I'd still be willing to give it a second chance. It was probably a fluke. We once had a DELICIOUS meal that gave us all something... no comment but they had to rush us back to our rooms after one of our family... well... lets not go there. It wasn't pretty and we wont talk about it... But even there (Ohana) the food was AMAZING, and even after the horrific experience that happened immediately AFTER the meal, I still rave about how great the food was. My point is there are lots of picky eaters in this world, and you should never dismiss any food establishment because of what one person says. You should also NEVER destroy a restaurant in writing after only one visit. There are just too many things that could have caused your bad experience, and the core of the problem may have been the one eating.

JMHO, we all have them.

I will NEVER eat at the Sci Fi again. It was the worst dining experience of my life...not just my worst Disney one, worst over all in all my 35 years.
It was filthy...maybe they think it's dark so why clean?
The service was awful...maybe they thought since a reel of really dump movie clips were playing we were entertained.
The food was not even mediocre...maybe they thought that the food wasn't their main goal.
Well they were wrong.

I have yet to eat at 50's. We have it booked for next month....hoping for better!

Prime Time...:thumbsup2 Especially with first timers, fun to be had.
I've seen it here suggested that when you arrive, you can ask to have a server who is "in character" if you are at all concerned that you might get one that was not.

Ate at Sci Fi once..and that wa enough. Not worth another trip.
