Okay, we are trying to decide what to do in the Bahamas.. I know we cant do it all since we are going to be there one day only... btw, what time does the ship normally dock and what time do you need to board again? We are considering all options I suppose

1. Atlantis.. book a room so we get full access to the water park and everything and just make a complete day of it...

2. Swimming with the dolphins at dolphinswims.com which is about 3.5-4 hours or so?

or

3. Just sightseeing and going by little shops and stuff?

Im leaning towards Atlantis.. but is it worth it.. I looked on their website and its going to be about $373 for a 1 night reservation.

Swimming with the dolphins would end up costing us about $490 after we buy the pictures and video LMAO..

and sightseeing would be almost free minus maybe a taxi? and whatever I buy lmao..

Sooo what is it you just cannot go to the Bahamas and not do?

BTW, it will be dh, myself, and our son who will be 18 months old at the time.

I have never been, but I would do option #2, that is my dream to swim with the dolphins. I have not done it yet, but I will before I die;)

That said, it is very expensive, and I think I may do it in Florida, someone mentioned it being much cheaper..

We tend to do our own beachy, walking around excursions, it really cuts costs.:)

You may be able to get a better rate at Comfort Suites with the smartertravel discount. Booking a room at CS gives you full access to Atlantis. I got a room at CS for $110 this past Dec 1st which I booked just a few days prior to our cruise so depending on what day you're going in November you may be able to get a better rate as it gets closer to your cruise. Atlantis usually offers an "after thanksgiving" special it won't likely get advertised until fall.

Here's the link to the CS discount.

BTW, DD13 and I had a great time at Atlantis but it also only cost $55/ea so getting a bargain helped.;)

You may also want to check out travelzoo.com for Atlantis. That is what we did last December. It was like $130.00 at the Atlantis resort as opposed to CS. Not saying that one is better than the other because you get the same benefits just closer. Frankly, the atlantis room itself was kinda of a let down. Less than the average compared to other resorts we haved stayed at. Have a good time!

My dream is the dolphin swim. The rest of my family is totally not interested. I dont want to do it without them.

We were at Atlantis April this year and they were selling all access wristbands. I can't remember the price exactly but I think around $110 {probably worth emailing them to check price / availibility}. We did the Dolphin experience last year and we all agreed it was one of the best things we ever did. The boat stops at Atlantis on the way back so you could easily do the first Dolphin of the day and then the rest of the day at Atlantis !

I believe CS has instituted a 2 night minimum on all reservations.

I was able to book the Comfort Suites for our September 6th, 2007 sailing for just one night. AAA rate of $135., plus all their fees.

It seems to have changed back in the last week or so because people are definitely booking 1-night stays again. I read originally that the 2-night min was put on Fri/Sat night bookings but people seem to be able to book Fri/Sat nights now for just one night. I also read that if you book through the smarter travel link there's no 2-night min.

We did the dolphin swim and LOVED it! I was not impressed with walking around Nassau! Everyone was pleading with us to but something from them, and when we went to the straw market I saw a huge RAT sitting on the shelf! Let me tell you I was not long getting out of there!!!!!
