August is hot and busy but not the worst for either being you said a two bedroom I would stay at OKW due to the size AND by the end of the day I would have seen enough people BCV is busy SSR has smaller rooms now if you give more details I may change my mind

If you want more a/c areas, BCV is more enclosed. With OKW and SSR, other than the main buildings, you will be mostly outdoors until you're in your room. If points are an issue, OKW is the "cheapest", followed by SSR, and then BCV. . If DTD is important to you, then SSR or OKW is more convenient. If you want to be closer to parks (Epcot and MGM), then BCV is more convenient.

Sometimes it helps to make a list of what you and your family consider "must-haves". Then, match the resort that meets more of those needs than the others.

You'll have a great time wherever you stay; after all, you'll be in WDW! :thumbsup2

I've never been in the summer but I would love to visit BCV. Just for the simple fact of Storm A Long Bay and the proximity to Epcot. Unfortunate thing we have to take a year away from Disney because a of a new little one due this summer.......I'm jealous reading about all these great plans.

It would be a toss up. I would love to stay at BCV just because I like the feel of the resort. Not near as busy as BWV. I personally hate SAB as a pool so that isn't a draw for me at all. But I like the food choices that are near by. I also spend a lot of time at Epcot.

I love OKW though and htat is usually where I prefer to stay in general though. I just like the laid back feel. Though in teh summer being on a hot and sticky bus that might be filled to standing room only would possibly get to me.

I personally have no desire to ever stay at SSR. I just don't like the feel or the location of it.

Late July/August is our SSR trip because of the member block party at PI!!! Love being able to walk to DTD for the party, then back to the resort for a swim/dinner, then back to PI for the free nightlife.

Now it looks like there is not going to be a block party - so ignore my advice!

I'm really looking forward to our first stay at BCV in August. It is HOT but we usually go in the summer since it's not a problem. I know the kids are going to love SAB and DH and I love the entire Boardwalk area.

How many in your group?
What are the ages?
Do you want to spend all your time in the parks or a lot of time at the resort?
What kind of activities do you like non-park related?
Which are your favorite parks?

Without knowing the details of your group and preferences, I can't tell you which one we would choose. It would depend on the answer to those questions and probably more.

Right now, all you're asking is "what resort do you like better?". That's different than "which one would you choose?". :)

I would echo what Granny said. I would aslo add, if you are talking about Aug of this year, it's probably a moot point, with regards to BCV anyway.
For us, we alternate stays between BCV and OKW, this summer it's OKW. The kids love both, for different reasons, and so do my wife and I. So we just switch off years, throw a little HH in every other year and whala, a great vacation plan. :)

well it will be myself(28), my sister (38) and her two son's 14 and 12. We want to mostly do the parks, hang out at the pool.

fav parts are mgm, epcot,

I would think that BCV would be ideal for you then, it has the best pool on property, IMO, and is walking distance from both parks. The Boardwalk area has lots of interesting things to keeep kids in that age range occupied and entertained as well.

Yep, a slam dunk for BCV. With only four people, you won't have to worry about how big the rooms are...2BR will fit you great! And your favorite parks are within walking distance. SAB is the best pool on-site.

The only competition to this decision would be BWV, and since that wasn't one of your choices, BCV it is! :thumbsup2

I agree with this! BCV would be it for sure for the same rerasons! Though as i said I don't like the pool, but I realize I am in the minority ;)

Are you talking about this Aug? Have you checked availability?

I just made ressie's for Aug4-11 of this year and DVC told me that at this point the only resort that had anything available for a 2 bedroom villa, was SSR. If I wanted anything else I would have to go on a waiting list. I took SSR! It's our home resort and we absolutely LOVE IT !!! DVC also said that the resort construction is basically all finished. They only have some interior work to be done on one remaining building. YIPPEE!!

I would do either BWV or BCV is available, esp if you have any inclination of letting the boys go anywhere alone. If you can get standard view I'd definitely put BWV first and likely would anyway for a number of reasons. While the pool is better at BC/YC, it's further from the villas. BWV also has the games in the community hall with a pretty good pool system itself. While it's further from Epcot, it's proportionately closer to MGM to walk. The boat route also makes BWV better for Epcot and but a little worse (one stop) for MGM.

Between OKW & SSR, I think you'd be happier with SSR for this trip. The larger kitchen and larger unit don't really give you much in this situation, SSR definitely has better pools overall plus you're walking distance to DD. But OKW will be less points.

I would choose BCV......cause it is very hot in Aug.....
BCV has stormalong bay...the best pool on wdw property...

What are your plans? BCV would be the choice, you are close to Epcot, and if you have the park hopper you can use the monorail to MK. Of course the pool is great for those hot days - and Storm Along Bay is the best pool on property.

SSR has a nice pool - the open layout may have you outside a lot, but hey - you are going in August so you know it will be hot. Nice to be at OKW or SSR for a few nights at DTD.

Either way - you win!

Of your choices, I would pick BCV first if available. I really like to be in the Epcot area if possible. Then probably OKW (OKW and SSR are about equal to me, so I would prob pick OKW just to save the points).

If you don't have ressies already I doubt if BCV will be an option. I would then pick SSR. I would pickk SSR myself anyway, they have great pools and lots of them, I'm another wacko that really does not care for SAB unless you have young children. I'm sure it's all irrelevant anyway You'll most likely be staying at SSR or maybe OKW.
