Which would you choose?

We are headed for 10 nights to Disney this summer. We are a family of five (2 adults and 3 kids - 14, 11, and 4).

Which would you choose?

1) 6 nights at the Contemporary Garden Wing then 4 nights at the Boardwalk. We will all be in 1 room.

2) 10 nights in 2 rooms at POR

3) 10 nights offsite at Bonnet Creek (The Wyndham Grand hotel where we will have two queen beds plus an alcove with bunk beds)

Options 1 and 2 cost about the same and option 3 is less (we are getting AP's so we won't have to pay parking at the parks)

Option 1 sounds awesome to me, but options 2 and 3 offer more space for us to spread out!

Which would you choose???

If you are planning to rent a car anyway, I would choose option 3. If not, I would go with option 2 only because it might be a hasslee for the 5 of you to pack up in the middle of your trip...

Space is premium for us always. Two bathrooms is always so very nice to have. And POR is the first place we stayed as a family so it holds sentimental value-- Option 2! Assuming, of course, money is not a large issue it's always nicer to stay in the park.

We love split stays but 5 in one room could be tight. If you don't plan on being in the room much, I'd stay deluxe. We have stayed at POR 2x and we really enjoy that resort. If you need more space, I'd go that route. I'd only stay off site if you have a car like a pp mentioned.

You haven't provided enough information.

If the three kids are boys and you will be out of the room most of the time go with option one. If either of the two older children is a girl then definitely option two. You HAVE to have two bathrooms in that scenario.

Option ONE!! By a long shot. I like the garden wing at CR better than the tower. You'd be so close to the pool and marina, which the kids will love. You can walk (10 minutes max) to MK. And then Boardwalk - beautiful place! Your kids would love the surry bikes and carnival games and magicians... I could go on and on. Options 2 and 3 cannot compare.

#2 POR is a beautiful resort. I think with the size of your party you will appreciate the space of 2 rooms and having 2 bathrooms.

Option #1! We are 5 too (15,11,6) and have no trouble being in one room... Then you get the best of both worlds... Close to MK then close to Epcot...

Option 1 -- I'd take one room in a Deluxe over 2 rooms in a Moderate any day. Plus you have picked 2 very conveniently located resorts -- allowing for you to walk to 3 of the 4 theme parks, avoiding waiting and busses. You will be able to get back to your room and go swimming or relax without wasting much time!

One thing you could consider is that there are deluxe rooms in the garden wing at the CR (someone posted a review with photos on here recently) -- they aren't much more $$$ and the rooms are huge.

But even without that, the CR rooms are quite large. And you can walk to the MK, hop the monorail to Epcot... BWI would give you great access to DHS and to Epcot.

Everyone is different. I'd pick the one big room in the great location. And the split is a great one -- we love MK/EP splits.

#2 POR is a beautiful resort. I think with the size of your party you will appreciate the space of 2 rooms and having 2 bathrooms.

... Just in case you guys don't feel like driving, you can take advantage of the Disney transportation to the parks, and the ferry boat to DTD.
Don't forget the Extra Magic Hour when staying on Disney property!

My choice would be option #1. We love the deluxe resorts and you picked 2 resorts with great locations. Plus the rooms at the deluxes are big and with the ages of your kids, I don't think you'd have any trouble with everyone 1 room. I also wanted to mention something regarding option #2. If that is a strong possibiltiy and you are wanting connecting rooms, that will have to be requested and won't be guaranteed (regardless of what you're told by a CM). Since it's possible for your DH to be in one room with kid(s) and you in the other, it's not a necessity for the rooms to be connecting. Disney will do everything they can to accommodate you, but if connecting rooms are not available, you won't get them.....just something to keep in mind depending on how important that issue would be.

I would choose option 2 because although option 1 sounds AMAZING, you willl probably be more comfortable and have more space at POR, with 2 bathrooms and more beds.
However, I am in a family with 2 kids (13 and 16) and 2 adults, and we were able to stay comfortably in the Boardwalk for a week.

If you can live with only one bathroom, I would choose location over extra space. You can't beat those two Deluxes for location.

Option 1 but I would switch BW to BC. I know that kids that age love SAB!

You already decided and you picked 1). You gave us little information to help you. If you are on a budget then 2) but one room in AB that has the Murphy bed and the room sleeps 5. No one can pick or endorse what you want. PPL who ask this question just want us to OK your decision. Have you been to any of these resorts? If not then only you can tell what you like. What pleases you, I and others may not like. What you have asked is for us to put up three numbers on a wall and through a dart at them. You like #1 so go with it. Unless this will be your only trip ever, you can do #2 or #3 on your next two trips.

I love POR and you can't go wrong there but others will say the same thing about your other choices. ENJOY!

We have done each of your options and they have all worked for us. Since you have chosen summer time, I would definitely go with option #1 because of dealing with the heat and crowds. In my opinion, all of these would be easiest: getting to and from the resort, taking an afternoon pool break, availability of a deluxe pool, and using Dis transportation if you park hop.

When crowds are lower and park hours are shorter, I like to have separate sleeping areas because we spend more time in our room. When it is hot and the park hours are long, we tend to return to our rooms late and everyone is so tired that I just hope they get both showered feet into bed before falling asleep.

Agree. We stayed at POR last year and loved it. Two bathrooms would be a definite asset.
