Which would you choose in Epcot?

I am looking to try something new and different in Epcot for our Jan '09 trip. It is myself and my 3DD's - 11, 9 & 8.

I want something with a different/neat atmosphere but the food also needs to be better than just edible. We are okay with trying different foods.

The 3 places I am going back and forth with are - San Angel Inn, Restaurant Marrakesh and the Coral Reef. These all seem to have a unique atmosphere but I hear so much good and bad about the food at them.

Which of those would you choose?

Do you have any other ideas - we are already doing Le Cellier and have done Biergarten and Akershus so we wanted something new.

Thanks!!

Other than the ones listed, we really enjoyed Nine Dragons. The food was very good, and so was the service. There are no shows or anything, like at Biergarten, but the restaurant is nice.

I would choose San Angel, simply because I think that is has the best atmosphere of them all, it does get very mixed reviews on the quality of food, but everyone has different taste and experiences!

Coral Reef would be my 2nd choice with a good atmosphere and usually decent reviews.

Have a Great Trip!

We think Les Chefs de France is the best Epcot restaurant we've tried. We usually go there every visit. We haven't eaten at Tutto Italia (we did eat at Alfredos), Coral Reef, Biergarten, or Rose & Crown, so I can't offer a personal opinion on those. On your list, I enjoyed SAI & Marrakesh, but not nearly as much as Chefs.

I think your DDs would like Coral Reef the best, especially if you request a table by the fish. :fish: I love the atmosphere. I've seen the mixed reviews about the food and service, but I have never had a bad experience there.

I vote for Morocco. It's one of our family favorites. I love their couscous. I think couscous tastes like sand but there's is fantastic.

I agree :thumbsup2

Coral Reef was our favorite restaurant last trip. Steak was great and the atmosphere is nice for kids. San Angel is O.K. but I found it too dark for kids, nice for couple tho.

I too would vote for Coral Reef. Beautiful scenery, pretty good menu. The Morrocan place is really good too!

I would not do the Mexican place as most of the reviews I've read are not very promising.

Out of those three, Coral Reef.

If I had to recommend one, either Bistro De Paris, Le Chefs de France, or Teppan Edo.

I vote for Restaurant Marrakesh. It is probably the most "exotic" option at WS. The food IMHO has also been very good or better, and very traditional. The way I would look at it, which type of dining experience would you least likely do at home? The Belly Dancer is always welcoming young ladies to join her. Would your DD's be into that? Coral reef, foodwise is typical seafood joint. Foodwise San Angel was just OK ( I didn't like the service there, and it wasn't true Mexican food). But since you specifically said the food needs to be better the park par, I would say Marrakesh.

My entire family really liked Coral Reef last year, so much so that it's on our list of places to which we're returning on our trip which starts next week. The atmosphere was very nice, and food was good too.

I haven't been to any of the three you listed - but I would choose Coral Reef. I think the atmosphere sounds cool - and I think it's worth trying to form my own opinion of the food.

You didn't mention Tutto Italia - if you are just looking to try something new and you haven't tried this one, it's worth a visit! We really enjoyed our dinner there!

I too voet for Marrakesh. Be bold! Go someplace with a cuisine that's new and different!

PS I have pix of my girls dancing with the bellydancer during dinner!

We are trying Marrakesh in 3 weeks, San Angel Inn in Oct and Coral Reef in Jan! Great minds think alike :goodvibes

I think your kids might love the humongous tank at Coral Reef.

:yay: I love Restaurant Marrakesh...the couscous with the lamb is very tasty...my husband on the other hand doesn't love it. Le Chefs de France is also very good. The kids burger is to die for!

We have been to all three and my vote is for Marrakesh. SAI has been hit or miss for us with respect to the food, althought the atmosphere is wonderful (tables are a little tight though). Coral reef was great and we are going back in November, but Marrakesh has been a favorite of ours for years. The atmosphere, entertainment and food are great in my opinion.

If, however, you do choose Coral Reef, just be aware that if you get a table against the aquarium there is a chance that you will have children squeeze in around your table to get up to the glass. We were seated in what I would consider the best row in the dining room. We were in the first tier of tables, but not up against the glass. Fabulous views without wisitors squeezing by to get up close and personal with the marine life.

Thanks for all the great replies :flower3:

I think I will narrow it down to Marrakesh (my girls would totally get up there with the belly dancer) and Coral Reef.

I am also going to look at the menu for Les Chefs de France as a few mentioned.
