Which would you choose BCV or BWV? Why?

We will be traveling with our DS's 3 and 5 and was wondering which resort and why? We will be staying in a 1 bedroom. Thanks!

Assuming that they are into swimming in a big way, BCV has a much more elaborate pool (Stormalong Bay). For kids that age, it is almost like a mini-water park.

BWV has a very nice pool as well.

Both are convenient to EPCOT and MGM Studios.

BCV has character meals at Cape May restaurant, so that would be a little more convenient if staying there.

Really, both are great resorts. I don't think you can go wrong, but I think most here will give a tip to BCV because of the Stormalong Bay pool. :)

I second BCV. Stormalong Bay has a huge water area for little kids with sand to play in too. The water depth is very shallow and my 4 yr. old had a blast in February. They also have a mini slide by the pirate ship waterslide for kids. We loved it! :)

I agree. If they are into swimming at all, Stormalong Bay is the best. When my DD was almost 3 we stayed at the Beach Club and we were in the pool everyday. There is also lots of sand for them to play in. Definitely take time to go over to the Boardwalk one evening and see the entertainment that is out and about. The magician that was there in March was lots of fun. We watched him 2 or 3 times.

I agreed too.

BWV is nicer for teens and young adults. Although the community hall is nice - I think your kids would enjoy BCV more.

I think BCV can use BWV community hall - ask.

A stay at the Beach Club Villas can also be very educational. They have an in-room entomology program your kids will love.

The views from a BWV boardwalk view are amazing! Over at BCV, the gelato in the Marketplace is amazing! I find BCV to feel smaller, quieter, and more casual/relaxed. BWV seems big, bustling, and loud to me. And I love the fact that at BCV, you can walk on the beach barefoot, or squish your toes in the sand of the pool. You can probably tell I love the BCV so I'm kind of biased.

Another vote for BCV, the pool is fantastic, the marketplace is nice, Cape May and Beaches n Cream and great and it is smaller feeling than BWV. ad since it is such a short walk to Boardwalk you can take advantage of all the
other amenities Boardwalk has to offer, you can even pool hop over there but if you stay at BWV you cannot pool hop to BCV. My husband thinks it is a better walk to Epcot and MGM from BCV. But afterall it is Disney and you can't go wrong either way. :wizard:

On the dvc member site is says you can pool hop except for certain days...and it gives the non-pool hopping days for 2006 specifically.

pool hopping is never allowed at Stormalong Bay, regardless of the date. If you read the section you quoted a little further, it says that somewhere.

I personally prefer BWV. If we can get BW view, we stay at BWV. If not, we got to BCV. WE own at BCV.

I agree, if I can get it, I would rather book a boardwalk view room at BWV. If you are planning on spending most of your time at the resort, then BC might be nice, but my preference is BW. :thumbsup2

This one got a nice chuckle...

We like BCV for the beach walking as well. The swings at night are great. Also liked the closer distance to the elevators and car. Both are great, you can't go wrong either way.

This is exactly what I have been debating for our next family trip. I do know that staying at an Epcot resort is the best choice for us because we just returned from our first trip with DH's family and they really enjoyed being able to walk to MGM and Epcot (we were at BWV).

For my kids (twins age 12) they loves being able to go down to the shops on the Boardwalk.

For the adults, the easy walk to both parks was nice.

BUT, I can see how the BCV pool would be fun. My kids were the only ones that went down the slide at BWV, the others said the clown freaked them out. It seems easier to keep an eye on a young one at BWV, but if they stay in one area at BCV, it would be fine.

I like the mug situation at BCV (being able to just go in and get your own drink at the store--we won't buy mugs at BWV since you can't fill them yourself).

I still haven't decided yet, but I am leaning towards BCVs so that our family can try out a new place but still of the easy access to the two parks. They really enjoyed that.
