Currently we own at AKL. We are looking at buying a resale contract, BWV or Copper Creek. How hard are Copper Creek studios to get at 11 months? How hard are resort view studios to get at BWV at 11 months? Pros we are considering, Copper Creek 2068, BWV lower point chart, location, but 2042. We can travel any time of the year. What would you do and why?

Resort view studios at BWV can be very tough to get, even at 11 months. CCV studios usually aren't bad unless it is around Christmas time.

Buy BWV if you want to stay at BWV a lot.

Buy CCV if you want the best/better value as far as point cost, expiration, dues, etc. goes or want to stay at CCV during Christmas time

Are all the studios on the first floor at CCV?
No, the ones with bathtubs are primarily on the first floor and there are a few "alternate studios" on the upper floors, I think maybe there are around 5 of them. Studios with showers only are on all the upper floors.

How hard are the shower and alternate studios to get?
Alternate studios are hard, since there are only a few. CCV has 2 booking categories for studios, one with a walk in shower and one with the tub. If you want the possibility of an alternate studio, you have to book the studio with a tub. But again, don't count on getting an alternate. If you don't want to stay on the first floor, don't book a tub room. I've found the shower rooms, in the past, to be easier than the tub rooms, especially if booking through WDW and not DVC. YMMV.

How many people are in your party?
Are you just looking for Studio accommodations?

If you have 5 then BWV you can get a studio or a 1 BR with BYOB (That's bedding :rotfl2:)

If you have 5 then CCV you must book a 2 Bedroom, GV or cabin.

Personally I think BW View is harder to book than Standard view.

Typically two maybe three in our party. Five adults in a BWV would be tight.
If it is just a party of 2 then it comes down to theming, location and time left.

Point charts (when looking at Pool/Garden “preferred” now and BW view rooms) and dues are close enough to not factor in unless going after BWV standard views to stretch out an extra night.

Obviously CCV has the length of time left in the bag.

Theming and location are your preferences.
Are you a MK family then lean towards CCV.
If you were a Festival family or like the studios lean towards BWV.

I would personally do BWV for easier access to international gateway for festivals and if you have a MK trip 7 month into one of the 5 (6 if you count PIT as separate) resorts at MK with your AKL points.

BWV has a serious 11-month issue. Resort studios (formerly named standard view studios) fill year round for any given arrival date at 11-months out within moments after 8 a.m. eastern. You may be able to pick up days after 11-months out as walkers pass by or reservations are canceled, but you should assume that to actually get a multi-day reservation, you will need to spend a lot of your time trying to get it, and even then there is often failure. The same 11-month issue applies to the boardwalk view studios throughout the high demand "Fall" season that runs from late Sep to marathon weekend in Jan. and that also sometimes happens at random times the rest of the year. Even the pool/garden view studios may have the issue during extremely high demand times in that Fall season -- such as first 2 weeks of Dec, Christmas week, race weekends, and time around Thanksgiving.

CCV studios also have an 11-month issue, although it is not as bad as BWV's. They can disappear right at 11-months out during that Fall season, particularly during those extremely high demand times. It can also have an 11-month issue at various times the rest of the year, but then it is often a one-or-the-other problem --the tub studios will be filled while the shower-only studios remain open for some time past 11-months out, or vice versa.

CCV has the advantage of a much later end date -- 2068 to BWV's 2042. The BWV rooms are larger -- e.g., studios at 359 sq ft compared to 338 at CCV. BWV provides the boardwalk and its restaurants and night life, and fairly quick access to the restaurants at Epcot, YC, BC, and S/D. CCV/WL has one of the most impressive lobby areas at WDW, including when decorated at Christmas time. BWV's lobby area is just OK and much smaller than CCV/WL's.BWV provides walking or boat access to both Epcot and Studios, while CCV provides no walk-to-a-park access but easy boat access to MK.
