I have a great ding fare out of Manchester $39 for 2 RT this would be $198. I could also fly out of Logan $69 RT would be $315.
Logan would be a quick trip to Braintree then on Logan express $20 RT. about 1 hr tops into Logan with traffic.

Manchester is at least 1 3/4 hours. then to park @ $8 per day about $40. then to the airport on a free shuttle.

Ok so what would U do. The flight times are great both ways. :confused3

I'd fly on SWA like I always do!!!!! :cool1:
(Hint: They don't fly to Beantown)

I'd go with Logan, even at the higher cost. I don't know what time your SouthWest flights are, but do you really want to drive that 1.75 hours to get home?

Manchester is so much easier to get into and out of

Of course it is. It's easier to get around once you're inside the terminal as well. BUT the OP would be driving from southeastern Massachusetts; from north of Boston, very early in the morning with little traffic and great weather it took me an hour and a half to get to Manchester.
OTOH, Logan Express makes it EXTREMELY simple to get to Logan Airport. No driving, no getting lost, if you can get a ride to the LE station no parking costs...

UGH! I hate these questions!! ;)

For me for August, it's a toss up between flying from:
Portland - 25 minute drive; Delta w/1 stop; arrives at MCO; 5-6 hr flight
Portsmouth - 45 minute drive; Allegiant Air non-stop; arrives at Sanford; 3 hr flight

Flights end up being cheaper from Portsmouth, smaller airport, too. However, by time I figure in the additional $$ for a car service price, I'm breaking even.

For my last trip, PanAm canceled my flights out of Porstmouth and since it was SO close to my trip, I had to find something cheap. That meant the 1.75 hr drive to Manchester. It was ok, but I wouldn't choose it again unless I was saving $400 like last time. To me, the extra drive time is not worth it.

When I look at prices, if it's not at least a $100+ savings, I fly from the closest airport. My vote, fly from Logan. According to my bad mathematical skills, you're only saving $97 - how much of that are you going to spend on the drive to Manchester? Gas, tolls, munchies?? Good Luck, whatever you choose!

Cheers!

I'm in central Ma, so I can use many airports...Manchester, Logan, TF Green, even Hartford. Logan is the quickest for me to get to. My big problem with Manchester is that I'm going in the wrong direction!!! I hate driving north to fly south. Not when I can just drive east and it's about 30 minutes closer. Sure, most of the Logan flights are a bit more expensive. But time is money. I would rather spend a bit more and not be in the car so long.
I would go with the Logan Express and fly out of Boston. Or check into TF Green whereas you are in Brockton.

just an update I agreed with most all of you after my DH said "R U nuts? Driving almost 2 hours to save a few bucks." :rotfl2:

OK i am the cheap one. I am way past the frugal mark. So I splurged and am flying out of Logan. My DH gavy my DS6 extra $$ as "mom is so cheap."

When DS and I go we stay at Value and eat breakfast in our room. Eat a large midday meal and a late night snack. With DH we have to eat 3 meals in a CS or TS then the snack. LOL If he only knew DS and I had the free dining plan last Oct and ate and ate and ate. :cool1:

Thanx for the help it confirms my original idea to save and my idea to save time. I guess I would have made out both ways. :worship:
