We got the American, the European, and the Kids All-American. The American had two pieces of chicken and so was a pretty good size meal. Very tasty although a couple of kids thought cold fried chicken was weird. I thought it was really good.

The European was really tasty, but not very filling. The men who ordered it supplemented it with a wrap from the food stand behind bug's land (can't remember the name). I was fine with the size, but had eaten a little of my DD's meal to sample. Desserts in both were yummy, especially the choc. covered tiramisu.

If I did it again, it would be a hard choice between the two since they were both so good. Portion size is a little bigger with the American. I did want to try the Asian, but not sure about the cold samon. I am not generally a fan.

Hey Mortimer Mouse! What do you think about adding a poll to your OP? I am going to order the picnic dinner myself and I've been curious about people's opinion on these as well.

I am very curious of which meal to choose when I go to DL next month with two of my friends.

My husband had the american and liked it. I got a kids meal for my 2 yo since I didn't like any of the choices. My son liked the kids american meal and my daughter had the lil squirt meal. It was a good choice for us.

I had the European Antipasto and though it was good, but I would make it the only thing you eat that evening. I want to try the all american if I ever do the picnic meal again.

Yeah! Thanks for making this a poll! I can't wait to see which direction it goes! Twenty-nine days until I can order our picnics! We are staying at the GCH, but I want to try to go our first night of our stay and we won't get there until around 6:00 that night. I'm running the DL Half Sunday morning, so I don't want to stay up Saturday night to watch it. I'm not sure if we're going to go to the parks on Sunday. We have Deluxe APs and would have to buy a block out ticket. We might decide to just hang out at the pool and relax on Sunday after running 13 miles. And I don't know if they will be showing it Monday night nor do I want to count on seeing it Monday only to have a problem occur and the show not happen. If something happens Friday, we'll at least have the option of seeing it another night.

This is good info. We purchased the picnic package a couple of days ago for our upcoming trip and I was not sure which to go with. Cold fried chicken didn't sound too appetizing, so I went with the Mediterranean. Hubby opted for the chicken though. I guess we'll see. I'm curious how this poll goes.

I would definitely try the Mediterranean but I think I'd have to eat something else, too. I've heard one bad review that the meat was too fatty/etc. but I don't think I'd mind if that were the issue. My only concern is the portion size, which I think would be too small for me....Poor me, having to buy a snack too. Darn. ;)

I got the vegetarian, which was excellent and quite filling (I'm not even a vegetarian). The only thing I didn't like was the zucchini salad. It was blah.

My husband got the Antipasto and he ate it all, said it was great. Kids both got the chicken which they didn't love but definitely ate all of the dessert :)

I got the taste of asia. The salmon on the salad was really good--nice dressing. The noodles were good, spring roll-so so. desert was awesome! It was big bottles of pop too--I was surprised.

Thank you for posting these options. I've been having a hard time finding details about the WOC Picnics. (Granted, I didn't search too hard yet.)

These can be booked 30 days out, NOT 60, correct?
And how much does it cost? Do you have to give the credit card info when booking?

Thanks!

I just ordered ours this morning for 8/5 so it is 30 days :) I tried to order yesterday 7/5 but it wasn't up yet (31 days). I ordered and paid for the picnic meals online and then printed the receipt to take with us. The process was very easy!!

My first choice would be the Taste of Asia, then the American. The European doesn't sound appetizing to me.

Eeee-, which one was the one you heard had the fatty meat? Was it the European or American? Just curious, because that is an issue for me.

We had the All American kids meal and adult meals. I thought it was really good... not greasy. I wasn't too fond of the potato salad but I liked the cole slaw & apple pie. I was STARVING when I ate the picnic lunch and it satisfied my hunger.

I ordered the Taste of Asia. I really liked the Salmon, the noodles and spring role were pretty good too. It was a good size for lunch, which is when we ate it. I got both my boys the kids All American. They poo poo'd the cold chicken, but I tasted it, and it was good. They just didn't like eating it cold (picky). The kids meal had lots in it though, so they didn't go hungry.

Taste of Asia for me as well. My 13 year old and I both enjoyed the Salmon; he thought the spring roll and salad were weird but I liked them - salad more than the spring roll which basically tasted like a wrapped carrot. I really liked the desert, again the 13 year old less so.

My folks had the chicken. Kept saying they wished it were warm. They liked the pie.

If I end up doing the WOC picnic rather than the full-on WOC meal at Ariel's Grotto, I'd choose the antipasto picnic.

They had me at "chocolate covered tiramisu". :rotfl:

We chose the Lil' Squirt for all 4 of us (2 Adults and 2 children). No one said anything and we picked them up around 2:30 and used them as a snack box. It was perfect.

Aloha Everyone,

Thank you for this thread, we are going to DL in December and I was trying to figure out if we should do the picnic meal. I was reading the threads but I didn't see the cost for the meals. Does anyone have that info?

We always do the VIP dessert seating for the Fantasmic so I thought this would be something new and fun to do with my girls.

Mahalo (Thank you) for the info, Zena Wright:cool2:
