Which Wing at AKL is best?

Hey there all! My fiance and I have booked a savannah view room in late July/August for our Honeymoon. I have read lots on this board about which wings are best to request for the best animals and views. What is your opinion on this? Also, I have heard lots of rooms are a long walk from the lobby.

So, if you had to choose rooms/wings, what would be your preference?

Zebra Trail!!

IMHO Zebra Trail is a great location. On it you face Arusha savannah - the big main savannah area. But its best advantage is that it is located near the restaurants, pool, laundry, kid's club.

Have a great time! We loved our AKL stay last year!

Hi - we are just returning from our trip and truly enjoyed it! Basically, the resort is set up like a horseshoe with the lobby being in the middle. We were located on the right side of the resort with an Arusha view. We saw giraffes, zebras, etc. and we were located next to the elevators that go down to the pool, laundry, arcade, Mara, etc. I think the lower floors have a better view. The higher you go you get some obstruction with tree tops. Enjoy!

Hi,

The AKL has four "trails". Three of them offer "savanna" view rooms. Ostrich Trail overlooks the Sunset Savanna. The Kudu Trail overlooks the Sunset Savanna on one side and the Arusha Savanna on the other. The Zebra Trail overlooks the Arusha Savanna on one side and the Uzima Savanna and the pool area on the other side.

If you have a savanna view room booked I would reconmend that you request a particular savanna and not a trail. Of course you can request both but what you have to keep in mind there is that requests are just that and may not be granted.

I would request a view of the Arusha Savanna and skip the trail request.

We love the AKL very much so I am sure you will have a great trip regardless of the trail you are on or the savanna you overlook.
