We prefer the original, Westgate Villas, right at the entry road to Disney on 192. The buildings at Westgate Lakes are too big and dark for Orlando and the things to do on site aren't as plentiful as at the Villas. Also on the Villas gorunds is Town Center - newer buildings than the Villas but again hghrise vs the 2 story, more tradional style of the Villas. They do share the grounds and aren't as crowded together as the ones at Westgate Lakes.
As for the other, lesser known Westgates all around Orlando such as the Palace by Wet N' Wild, Bluetree and others they are resorts Westate bought and either redeveloped or simply renamed. None are all that nice and I would avoid them.
