We are trying to choose a week in May, would like to go when the crowds aren't as heavy. Last year we arrived on Memorial Day and it wasn't bad. I'm thinking Memorial Day weekend should be avoided????

Great chart! Where did that come from? I'd love to know which weeks rank in the top 5!

OP, we went the first week of May and loved it. It's been a few years since that trip but if I could go any week, that would be it. The highs were around 88 and not very humid so it was nice to visit a water park but not so hot you couldn't stand the regular parks. Easy packing knowing you won't need long pants at all. Crowds were low.
I do recall a bazillion love bugs on the day we went to KSC but not at WDW.

We always go during the first week of May. While not the lowest crowd time you still miss a lot of the kids and love bugs.

We tend to go the third or fourth week in May. Crowds have always been low during our time there.

As the chart shows, the earlier you go in May the better. Southern schools start to get out for Summer break and the crowds only get bigger!

We've been twice the first week of May and the crowds were awesome. I will also note that the years we went were 16 years apart so I'm going to say that the crowd levels are historically low then. When we went the average wait time for most rides was less than 15 minutes with a high wait time of 40 minutes for some of the more popular rides. Many many rides were walk on.

We have gone twice over Mother's Day - first week of May. The weather is relatively mild and we were able to walk right on to most rides. We can't get away with taking our kids out of school any more, otherwise we would repeat this every year.

I think the earlier in May you go the better. We are going last week in April/first May. That is before schools get out and before Star Wars weekends.

I'm not the OP, but I am super happy to read this feedback. We are going from May 1st to 8th this year, and we've never travelled at that time before.....so this is our little "experiment" to see how we like it. I was hoping there would be no need for pants or hoodies in the luggage!

Love bugs concern me a bit. I am hoping that they won't creep me out too much :scared:.

We had low crowds the year we went early May the week leading into Mother's Day. Didn't see any love bugs.

We love late April/early May! In fact we love it so much we have never gone at any other time. Weather is perfect for us, hot enough to enjoy the water parks but not melt from the humidity. Crowds have always been very manageable as well. We will be there May 2-11th this year and can't wait:jumping1:

I have been @ WDW during Memorial Day Week.....It was uncomfortably hot but the crowds were manageable.

This year is my first solo trip May 9-16 and crowd calendars say it will be low. Looking forward to this vacation. :)
