I'm trying to decide what week in September we should go:

Saturday, September 5 - Thursday, September 10, 2015

Or

Saturday, September 19 - Thursday, September 24, 2015

We have an 8 year old daughter and plan on spending a lot of time at MK. Hoping for free dining but don't need it to go. Most likely staying at Pop Century. Also, won't be doing MNSSHP.

Thoughts?

Sept 5th to 10th is the final week for the Frozen Summer Fun at the Studios, which ends offically Sept 7th, altough last year they kept it going on the weekends in Sept, the Frozen Fireworks were the best part of that

Good point! I'd prefer to see that on a non-weekend day also.

What time were the fireworks at?

We always go the 2nd week in Sept. MNSSHP starts and last year the Frozen summer of fun was still going on, so we experienced both. The parks were empty and we hardly waited! It's our favorite time of year to go!!

We've never been in September! The heat makes me a bit nervous though...

We always go the week of Labor Day and LOVE it! The crowds are not too bad even for a holiday as long as you plan your park days well. Plus we will get to be there during the last week of Frozen Summer Fun. We didn't get to go last September so it will be a first for us! :dogdance:

Oh, the heat is AWFUL! We do try to take breaks during the afternoon to get out of the heat when we can! You'll have a great time either way!!!!!

Awful?!? Yikes! But it's Disney so who cares, right? . We would definitely do breaks. We do rope drop so that helps a ton.

We're going the 3rd week in Sept this year, and are hoping the extend the Frozen Summer during the weekends in Sept like they did last year. It was a last minute thing in 2014, originally, same as this year, they had it end on Labor Day, but since it was so popular the extended it through the weekends.

And I guess there is always the possibility that "Unleash the Villains" becomes more than just a one night event, but they haven't announced that at all yet

The heat is of concern to me being from the north and not used to it. We have always went in the end of September and managed. I wear light and loose clothing and drinks lots of water. We always go back to our room during mid-day and take a break. At night it cools down to a nice temp. I love being in the parks after dark when it is cooler. This year we are going 9/24-9/29.

Mid-day breaks would be our plan also. Or just power through the parks early morning and be done by early afternoon and just do pool/drinks time.

What is so great about going in Sept is the ability to take mid-day breaks because you get everything done early! My husband and I will go do rope drop at a park in the morning and do everything we want and get to take a break a for a few hours and go to a park in the evening or do something else like DTD, resort dinner, show, fireworks etc. It's so nice a flexible to not run around crazy, worried that we won't be able to do the rides we want. It's so much more relaxing! I LOVE going in Sept despite the heat, I am a Florida native so I know how hot it can get but really it's that hot June-Sept. I won't block myself from going to Disney for that many months because of a little heat! Sunscreen, shorts, and water is all I need!

Keep in mind, just in case you choose the later option. When they extended Frozen Summer Fun, the only did fireworks on the weekends during the extended dates.

The heat can be difficult. Just make sure to arrive early and get outdoor stuff done ASAP. Its still hot in the morning, but bearable. Once you get too hot, its time for the indoor stuff. Long lunch break, or maybe even a trip back to the hotel to lounge by the pool. Back around 5:30-6:00, and you are refreshed and ready for more.

Sept 5th to 10th:
1. Frozen Fun will be happening and the fireworks are worth it. The parade is cute, too.
2. Magic Kingdom will be open every night

Sept 19th to 24th:
1. Frozen Fun is over - no guarantee it will be extended over the weekends like last year. I would guess that they want the characters for the Halloween party. We have seen the same Kristoff now for more than 1.5 years. ;) He is a busy guy.
2. Magic Kingdom will be closed for party nights, which makes the nights that it is open more crowded than usual - this was annoying when we were there last Sept.
3. Epcot Food and Wine Festival is happening - with concerts every night and food booths - this is fun

September is hot, humid and rainy. We went from Sept 24th to 28th last year and the humidity was oppressive. We spent every afternoon in the resort pool, which was fun.

We went the last week of September one year and it was fabulous. No crowds and less humidity. We were also there for the first day of the Food and Wine Fest. I think any week in september would be awesome, though.
