Which Week in November?

We are looking to go for 4 days in November (Sunday-Wednesday) the 1st-4th or 8th-11th. It will be DH, my 2 yo DS, and my parents. I would like to see the fireworks (which I figure will only be on a Sunday) as well as Paint the Night. I could care less about the Halloween and Christmas stuff as we have been during those times in the past.

Which week would be better with crowds as DH does not do well with crowds?

I don't know that there is going to be a large difference between the two time periods. Both are part of the "transition" period, as DLR takes down Halloween and puts up the Holidays. If I had to pick, my guess is that the first period (11/1-4) might be slightly better, mostly because the Avenger's Half Marathon is slated from November 12 to 15, so you might see some early arrivals in the latter part of the 11/8-11 period. There is also the chance that some of the holiday overlays and such might be up and running by the 11/7-8 weekend, so there might be some extra folks stopping by to see those.

I think the 1st-4th will be more crowded because schools that start after Labor Day have their Fall breaks during that week. My kids are out the 1st-4th. We frequently travel during that break and it's always more crowded than expected for that time of year.

Which school district are you in? I can add it to the 2015 Calendar of Events and School Breaks if you let me know. So far, most of the ones I've seen/heard about have their fall breaks in October.

We're going during either the first or second week of Nov. as well.

The second week will have Veteran's Day on Wednesday. That means you'll have families taking advantage either the first or last part of the week. I would guess that the first week will be far less crowded. I'd be going that week if not for a family member's big birthday party. It seems like the perfect week.
