I've heard that Oprah always stays in the GF. I think I read that Britney Spears frequents AKL. I think Tom Cruise stays in the MK castle room....I wonder what other celebs have gotten to stay in that room....

A few weeks ago, I read on a board that a poster was staying at the same hotel as Neil Patrick Harris (for the parade taping), but I cannot recall which hotel they were staying at.

Which WDW resorts have you had a celebrity sighting?

I've heard that Kelly Ripa, and her family stay at GF when they go to WDW. Plus, I heard she doesn't like to be recognized. But can you blame her? She's on vacation with her family and just wants to be normal like everyone else!

I've read 80% stay at the GF, 15% stay at Yacht and Beach, and the other 5% are split between Boardwalk, AKL and Contemporary.

From what the CMs told me when we were there, NPH and family were at AKL. It was all the shuttle van drivers could talk about!

So we have seen Tyra Banks at the Grand Floridian(omg is she gorgeous even without a stitch of makeup on) gerado Rivera at the Beach club.

And heard that Johnny Depp was at the beach club when our trips overlapped but sadly never saw him.

I was told that many stay at the Y & BC because of great access to Epcot.

Knowing me, I could be in the elevator with someone famous and never know it. Except for Mickey Mouse. I am sure I'd recognize him! lol

When we were staying at Port Orleans we saw Kenny Chesney coming back from one of the pools.

NO WAY!

Sorry but find it hard to believe it was actually him. First off, Kenny does not strike me as the type of person to go to WDW. Second, I feel like he would be staying at a better hotel.

When was it and how did you know for sure it was him?

Off topic but my mom and I had this conversation 2 days ago about how down to earth she seems. She comes from a normal family and seems like she values having a normal family highly herself.

I believe this!

Heard from someone who works at GF that SWW guests from the movies stay there including George Lucas.

Not 100% positive but still swear I saw Mark Teixeira (New York Yankees player) at BLT 3 years ago. Looked like him and kids he was with were right age to be his.

My sister and I took the Keys to the Kingdom tour a few years ago. Our guide was saying that they'll never sell nights in that room, they do giveaways, Make a Wish, etc. He said they've had celebrities offer BIG bucks and at that point, turned them all down. I think he said Faith Hill & Tim McGraw wanted to have one of their daughter's bdays at Disney and then have all the kids stay in that room and they turned them down. But that was a few years ago, so they might have revised their policy. I bet they show them the room, but I didn't think they allowed anyone to pay to stay there.

We were at AKL when Steven Tyler was staying there a few years ago; we talked to him in the lobby and even got photos.

We rode the elevator at BWI with Jerry O'Connell and Rebecca Romijn when they were staying same floor at Innkeeper's Club at BWI last year. They were there with their girls and we saw them around the resort throughout the week.

We were at the WL when the American Idol attraction opened. All of the idols except Carrie Underwood were at the WL in concierge. DH and DS took some pics and got some autographs. The CMs at WL refused to say where Carrie was but smiled when I guessed YC.

Love hearing these stories! I don't think I would ever approach a celebrity if I saw them in WDW, but it would be cool to run into one.

I googled Tom Cruise's trip and it looks like he did stay in the castle suite:

I hope they did change their policy since then to be what the PP described.

I'm surprised there are not alot of sightings at the Poly. If money were no object for me, I would definitely be in a suite at the Poly!:cloud9:

it used to be like that, like during the year of a million dreams where they would give a night away every day..
but Tom and Suri do stay in the suite when they are there, yes.
Also, Justin Bieber has been up there and trashed it.
Mariah Carey has also stayed there.

Most celebs stay in grand, beach/yacht, or AKL.

Um, it most certainly WAS him. I don't know that he was staying at the resort, or whether he was doing an interview or maybe staying at a different resort but came to the pool for a bit for a meeting of some sort? :confused3

We were walking along the path and he was walking towards us while a gal with a briefcase and clip board walked next to him writing a bunch of stuff down as they talked. They stopped in the path and he said "got it?" and she said "yep - I'll be in touch".

They parted and he continued on the path towards us as my eyes grew HUGE when I realized who it was. He walked by us - he smiled and nodded his head as he passed us because he knew that I knew who he was. My husband had already recognized him and just laughed because it took me a minute to comprehend the whole thing. I said in a loud whisper "omg, was that Kenny Chesney?" and I turned around for another look and he was turned around and smiled and tipped his hat at me and continued walking.

Trust me it was him. :thumbsup2
