Which water park..?

will be open in Nov? We are trying to decide between late Sept or mid Nov.
Nov. would be better for my son's school schedule, but the kids really want to go to both water parks. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You probably will not be able to officially find out until August as Disney posts two months in advance. Since both (I think) have been closed for refurbishment in the last couple of years, they will probably both be open.

In late-November one of the two parks will definitely be closed. They rotate the two parks into rehab annually both to keep the parks in tip-top condition and to reduce costs (it just doesn't make sense to fully staff two waterparks during the winter months because demand is so low.)

The closures used to follow a consistent schedule, but have flip-flopped the past few years due to construction at Typhoon Lagoon. So, it will be several months before we know for sure which will be closed.

In September, both will definitely be open daily. In November, one will definitely be closed.

We've done both and they are both great - however if you want more slides then i would pick BLizzard Beach - they seem to have more slides then TL.

Thanks. The kids have been to both, but they want to do the new coaster at TL. Just trying to decide which timeframe to go. I'll guess I have to keep waiting. Thanks again.

According to the hours posted on the pull down menu at the top of this board, TL is closed in Nov. We have purposely chosen our dates so that we will be able to go to TL Oct 28th ( our first stop from the airport!) because it will be closed after that date.

I hope that info holds-up for you. Disney hasn't announced anything yet, so the info you're reading here is based upon historical data. Last year, Blizzard Beach did close first, so TL was open in October. But there is no guarantee that will be the case this year.

Well, that's the problem. I need to book my airline tickets soon, and our dates hinge on TL! We were thinking of moving the trip ahead by a week, since we were planning on arriving the last day the TL would be open. Now I am rethinking that strategy because that would be our only opportunity to go, and if there was a delay of some sort, or bad weather, we would be out of luck. I don't want to change our dates and then find out that it will be closed in Oct instead! Does anybody have a suggestion on who or where I could email to get some sort of definite answer?

I hate to break it to you but I don't think you'll get a reliable answer until the October hours are posted around August 1st. Until the official Disney website lists one park or the other as being closed, I wouldn't trust it myself.

For what it's worth, if your main concern is being able to visit TL in October, I think you'll be OK. The standard schedule had each getting a 2-month rehab--one in November / December then the other in January / February.

Blizzard Beach did close a bit earlier last year (mid-October) since they needed extra time for the new construction at Typhoon Lagoon. There's been no indication of additional construction at either park, so I think it's reasonably safe to assume both will be open through the end of October.
