Which Water Park should we choose?

We are planning a 4 day trip to WDW in mid August and want to spend one day at a Water Park. There will be 6 of us going. Myself, DW, 10 year old daughter, 8 year old daughter, 8 year old son (twins) & 2 year old daughter.
Which water park would you recommend for our family?

unless they're really into the wave pool, I'd say BB over TL. My dd's (also twins) were 6 last Sept and they informed me that the kids area at TL was "for babies". They much preferred Ski Patrol at BB. They have several slides, a zip rope ride, "ice bergs" that they walk across, I can't remember what else. The water wasn't very deep, it wasn't over their heads and my smaller dd was just 44". BB also has a better family raft ride, a lazy river, and a smaller wave pool, along with slides for bigger kids. DS12 was able to do some of the things in Ski Patrol along with the bigger slides. I don't think there's alot for your 2 yr old, unless she's big for her age. There's another area called Tykes Peak for preschoolers, but I haven't been in there yet.

Definetly BB. It is a lot more fun, more options. I think the Travel Channel agrees. I was watching a waterpark show, and it was rated number 2!

I would also say BB. BB has two kids areas, Tikes Peak was perfect for my 2yo, and Ski Patrol Training Camp was great for my 8yo (although she still liked a lot of the grown-up slides, too).

At TL, there is just one kids area, Ketchakiddie Creek. The slides were too small to be any fun for my 8yo, but since there's no "tweener" area, there were still a lot of older kids running around there. The older kids liked the sprayer things, but there was too much water in the face for many of the little ones. My 2yo was comparatively so much more relaxed and had so much more fun at Tikes Peak, where it was only little kids.

As stm said, the family raft ride at BB just blows the TL one out of the water! (pun intended :teeth: ) Lazy river is the same at both. My kids liked the wave pool at BB better, too. The one at TL has one gigantic wave that comes along every 15 minutes or so. It terrified my 2yo. My 8yo loved it, but would get bored waiting for the next wave. The one at BB has smaller, continuous waves, so while not as exciting as TL's waves, at least you didn't have to wait around for the next one.

Both parks were a lot of fun, though. You really can't go wrong, and TL has Crush 'n' Gusher, the "roller coaster" slide, which was really fun and different.

I gotta say TL. My DD6 loves the wave pool and I love Curshin' Gusher. Your two older kids will have plenty of fun on the "adult" rides. Personally, I'm not a fan of the "bathing suit wedgie" flume rides and BB has alot of those. Crushin' Gusher is not to be missed! :thumbsup2

Like OP said though, your kids (and you) would like either one. Have fun! :sunny:

We did both parks last summer with 4 kids - 9, 8, 4, and 6 months. we really enjoyed both parks, but when pressed to pick a favorite we would say BB. The older kids loved the ski patrol area and the small kid area was better designed from a parent perspective than TL...where I had to follow dd4 everywhere with baby in hand and she never ended up where I thought she would. BB was great...she could navigate herself and I could see her at all times. Also, we all really loved the BB family raft - just awesome! We will visit both parks again this summer, so we really do like both, and I am sure your family will really like either park.

If I would have to make a choice; TL! I love the park. BB is great, but for some reason I just love the atmosphere, the wave pool (my 6 year old son loved it) and the Lazy river of TL. Also swimming with the sharks is not to be missed.

BB has the big one of course, in case you're wanting to go for the biggest thrill.

we went to both but my Boys 13,11,9 always want to go to blizzard beach as they like the ski patrol area. :sunny:
