Trying to decide which water park to visit during my next WDW stay. Traveling with DS 12. Any suggestions/feedback? Has anyone every visited both in the same day? Can you take a bus from one waterpark to the other?

When are you going? From late October to mid March, only one is open.

We did a full day at each PLUS a day split between both. Both have their pluses.

FYI, if you visit both in one day, it will require two seperate admissions.

We one full day at BB and two half days at TL last year. I liked them both, but BB was my favorite.

If you only have one day for a waterpark, I personally would pick the one you most want to visit (based on theme, kids areas, slides, or whatever your most important criteria is) and plan to stay for the duration. I would avoid having to pack up and move to the other park mid-day. If its your first time at either, there will be lots to explore and to keep you busy .

We personally didn't enjoy the snow theme at BB. Its very well executed, but just does not appeal to us in the slightest (perhaps we see too much of the real thing every winter :rolleyes1 ... the joys of living in the north). We much prefered the lush, tropical vibe of TL (and the wave pool there is sooo much fun).

and begin reading at post 69. There is a full write up of each with lots of photos. Blizzard Beach comes first, with TL immediately following.

I think a 12 year old boy would prefer Blizzard Beach. It has newer generation slides than TL, and others are longer versions of TL.
Our family went through a time where the kids preferred it but now in their 20s
they appreciate the theming at Typhoon Lagoon more.
We have waterpark APs and usually go to one in the morning, leave about 1 for lunch, and return to the other to finish the day.
Next week I suggest you get there at opening and do the slides. During the busy late morning/early afternoon, enjoy the lazy river and wave pool, then repeat slides as crowds leave.
I do not know about the bus question. Usually TL shares with Downtown Disney and BB often shares with Animal Kingdom from the resorts. I don't know if they have a bus stop for each other, but could for those going to the places they share with.

I just went to Typhoon Lagoon for the first time ever over the weekend, and honestly, you can experience everything the park has to offer in roughly 4-5 hours, if you're just planning for a half-day there.

Although, you could very, very easily spend the entire day there. The wave pool is ridiculously fun, and there are some lounging and play areas for the kids. I especially loved the Crush-N-Gusher water-coasters.

However, the Humunga Cowabunga - No thank you. I may as well have let a Clydesdale kick me in the junk than slide down that thing again. That, and the Gangplank Falls 'family raft' were the only things I didn't particularly care for.

While we were there, it was funny that there was a Lilo meet and greet, and Lilo began walking around unaccompanied by one of the 'handlers,' and hardly anyone batted an eye. It was like she was just another person there.

The rest was awesome. In a few weeks we're going back to sample Blizzard Beach.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. We have multi- day passes and based on your experiences, we may spend 1 full day at one WP and then maybe a few hours on another day at the other. BB seems like a lot of slides which is fun but the TL water coaster and wave pool are right up my alley :p
Decisions, decision....guess we will have to do both :thumbsup2

There are no buses that go directly from Typhoon to Blizzard. You can take a bus from Typhoon to one of the Disney resorts and then get on a bus to Blizzard.
