Hi!
Which water park is best for the little ones? Not been with kids before and they are desperate to try one - 5 and 6 year olds

Thanks,
Lynn

I have the same dilema

I was looking at the park maps over the weekend and they all seem to have dedicated areas for young ones.

We are hoping to spend three or four half days at the water parks but was hoping to be able to "set up camp" somewhere convenient for the children to entertain themselves for a little while, and then all of us enjoying the bigger slides/rides.

Looking on the Interactive map for Aquatica they have an area called "Walkabout waters" which looks great !!!

Hopefully someone will give us a better overview:thumbsup2

I would say in this order (1 being best suited to kids):

1. Aquatica
2. Typhoon Lagoon
3. Blizzard Beach
4. Wet 'n' Wild

I would defiantly look at Aquatica and TL, both are very family friendly. Aquatica has a superb childs area.

Give WnW a miss though, very much aimed at teens.

:thumbsup2

Of the Disney water-parks, mine preferred Blizzard Beach when they were younger. They have an 'Ice-Berg' crossing-Ice bergs strung across pool like stepping stones-with a net above for them to hang on to-they spent hours on it! You can stand in the pool nearby if you're worried about their swimming skills.

Yeah I would say there is not much between TL and BB, they are both great for all the family. The only water park I wouldn't take kids to is WnW (but then I wouldn't go there myself!).

Walkabout waters is great at Aquatica. Plenty of Lifeguards about but I ended up following DD (6) and joining in the fun! There is also another kids area alongside which has a number of slides going into a pool and fountain etc. The 3 year old loved this and it was ideal for him

I think both BB and TL are very good waterparks for kids. Can't comment on Aquatica but want to add in Don't do WnW ill never ever go there again.

Blizzard Beach I thought was best for our DD,Also typhoon lagoon..:thumbsup2
Can't comment on Aquatica but will be going here this time,we did pick Wet N wild at first but have changed that for Busch gardens :goodvibes

We usually visit Typhoon Lagoon twice on our trips, this year we are going to try Blizzard Beach with our DD8 and Twins DS & DD (1). I've heard there is some great little areas at BB for the little ones.

We have been to BB before, but before the children and just spent most of our time on the slides.

Our little girl loved Blizzard Beach the best and so did we. Outside of Disney I would say Aquatica. Both have great childrens areas to keep them busy.:cutie:

We preferred BB to TL when the kids were small - and still do now. But both were good.

Yep, agree Blizzard offers best facilities for little'uns in the Disney parks. However, Aquatica would be my recommendation as the kids park there is just awesome. Good options for adults to set up and keep and eye too.

i too was wondering this...it will be 3rd time but i always felt the kids were too small for water parks!
however my DS5 has been having swimming lessons and thinks thats a one way ticket straight to the water slides!:scared1:
i'm swaying towards the disney parks more (as the are included in the ticket price :lmao:) but just wasnt sure which would be better for them my DD is only 3?!?!:confused3

Both BB and TL have their positives and negatives for the little ones I think. Both are Disney parks, so you possibly wouldn't want to write either off, as they both have fantastic themes :thumbsup2

I know that lots of children love the floating icebergs at BB, as PP have mentioned. But for little, tiny toddlers, I think that TL would be better. They have the baby slides and the beach (as someone mentioned) so that they can play in the sand too.

There's lazy rivers at both parks, which are always good for parent/toddlers too, as there's plenty of floatation devices around and it's very relaxing - and a great way to see the park!

TL to me just seems a little more laid back than BB and I think it's aimed more towards the little ones, either way though, it'll always be good fun watching them play in the water, they'll love it!

Hi - we went to TL, BB and Aquatica last year with our then 4 year old and 9mth old baby.

I would say it depends on theming at TL & BB as to which you would prefer - we much prefer BB as I am not keen on all the sand and trees of TL and much prefer the clean feel of the snow - but the childrens areas are probably as good as each other!!:thumbsup2

As for Aquatica although the play areas are HUGE we didn't like them as much as the WDW water parks, perhaps becuase they were so big:confused3 - Also because of the lack of shade on the pathways, they were impossible to walk on!!;) - We had a cabana there which allowed us to have a shaded base and there were shady spots around, but not half as many as at WDW.

I can see us only really ever going to BB again - we've tried the others but they just don't compare for us - hope that helps a little!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

My son was 5 on our first trip and he especially loved Blizzard Beach. He was not a confident swimmer at that time. There was a very shallow pool with some small slides and squirting water fountains which would be ideal for a 3 yr old. There is another area for older children with bigger slides and a deeper pool. We went twice in a 2 week trip.

The main pool at Blizzard Beach has gently bobbing waves whereas the waves at Typhoon Lagoon are 6 foot!

There is a mini golf course next to Blizzard Beach which we all enjoyed too. It is called Winter-Summerland and is owned by Disney.
