We are planning a somewhat last minute trip to Disney Sept 6th-8th. We have annual passes and will be hitting the regular parks but the main reason were coming over is to try out a waterpark.... I haven't been in prob over 10 years.
My question is what water park is your favorite and why? What slides were your favorite and what are they like?

Also had another question, if anyone knows... If we buy tickets for 1 day to get in, are we able to upgrade to water park only AP before we leave the park that day if we all are enjoying it? Like I said we have AP to the parks, and to do a premium AP that includes the water parks also includes other stuff we won't use (like golf and Disney Quest) and to just get a separate AP for water parks is just over $100 each. One day at the water parks is around $50. So if we planned to come at least 1 more time it would make it worth the AP.

Thanks!!!

I like both water parks and I let my teenagers select where they want to go. Sometimes they want to go to Blizzard Beach and sometimes they wish to go to Typhoon Lagoon. Blizzard Beach has a great family slide, and I think their slides are more fun. The wave pool is not quite as rough as Typhoon Lagoons, and it is smaller. Typhoon Lagoon has a bigger wave pool with stronger waves. They also have water slides. TL has the Crush-n-Gusher water roller coaster. I do not like it because when you hit the rollers to go uphill, it beats the heck out of your derriere. Typhoon Lagoon also has a snorkel area. Both water parks have a lazy river and kid area.

I hope this helps....

We had the same question. On our trip last week, we had the group multi-day ticket that includes a bonus day at a water park. We chose TL. It was nice, but one note for anyone who has never been to a water park - You've got to "work" for your rides. As in, those slides with the rafts. You have to carry those rafts up all of the steps yourself. If you have a child with you who can't do it, you've got to figure out how to carry theirs also. Maybe this should have been obvious to me, but I didn't really think about it.

Don't get me wrong - we had a good time there, but after going once, I doubt that I'd return as all the climbing and carrying gets tiring.

One other tip if you go - bring towels from your resort as you don't get any at the waterparks. If you don't have them with you, you have to rent them at $2/towel.

Typhoon Lagoon because of Typhoon Lagoon!! :thumbsup2

Getting blasted by those waves is better than anything in either waterpark. All of the sudden there's just bodies flying around in water...I don't know why that's good, but it just is!! Kowabunga!! :hyper:

Accurate!!

Typhoon Lagoon for the wave pool. I love the tropical vibe and prefer rthe lazy river over BB.

I vote Typhoon Lagoon. It's a much more relaxed atmosphere and the theming is top-notch. The slides are as diverse as they are exciting, especially the Crush 'n' Gusher. The Storm Slides are fun as well. There's something fun about the terraneous nature of the three tube slides as well.

I also vote Typhoon Lagoon! I love the snorkeling tank!

It bugs me to no end that Typhoon Lagoon will be closed for refurb when I go to WDW this fall!

I love both but Typhoon Lagoon is our favorite. Now that my DD is finally tall enough to ride Crush'n Gusher I can't get her to do anything else.

I think both parks have very nice lazy rivers. TL has the awesome wave pool, BB has a tamer bobbing pool instead. Blizzard Beach has some great 2-person tube rides that are really fun, and it also has a huge family tube ride (Teamboat Springs) where the tube is carried up for you on a conveyor belt. When its just me and my dd I can't possibly carry a raft that big so we take advantage of Teamboat Springs. The similar family tube ride at TL (Gangplank Fall I think) requires you to carry the tube so we almost never go on it. But then TL has some really fun single tube rides.

If I were you I would get the water park annual pass and spend at least one day at each. September is a really hot month in Florida!

I would pick Typhoon Lagoon over BB any day! BB has a better family raft ride but a lot of the other slides at BB are racing slides, which aren't really my thing.

I love the lazy river, wave pool, shark reef and water roller coaster at TL. I also love the storm slides, they weave through the "jungle" and they are just themed so well!

I prefer BB. Guess I am just different than everyone else. I know it really just personal preference but I like the slides much betterat BB and even prefer its lazy river.

I am 49 years old and love Crush n Gusher. Tips the scales towards Typhoon Lagoon in a big way. I look for them to add a coaster to Blizzard Beach in the next 5 years.

Thanks for all the replies! Sounds like Typhoon Lagoon it is. Though someone mentioned it is getting closed for renovation this fall? When does that start? I am going October 4th- 9th

We prefer typhoon lagoon by a long shot. Just a much more beach feel than blizzard beach. We love swimming with the sharks and the crushes gusher. Lazy river is fun too just our families view but it does close in the fall.

Alright! I think we're going to TL! Disney resort is booked... Dog is booked at pet resort... I'm already packing for next Friday!

Thanks for your opinions!!!
