Which Was Your Favorite Job?

I'm a zookeeper. I love it!

Yes...an AWESOME job. I am a former zoo keeper. I was specifically a bird keeper, and worked mainly with penguins. I miss that job more than anything. I quit b/c my DH and I needed to bring in more money, and zookeepers do not make that much (barely over minimum wage). Sad, really, since most of us had college degrees or higher.

My favorite job ever is my current job that I have been at for a year - I am a clarinet lesson teacher for 4 middle schools in my school district. I also teach clarinet sectionals during 2nd and 3rd period twice a week. I love it so much it doesn't even feel like work and I am so blessed to have been given this wonderful opportunity!

I would say when I was a waitress at Denny's while in college. The tips were actually really good, and I had a lot of fun w/ my coworkers.

The job I have now is probably the most rewarding to my career as I've really accomplished some major milestones to add to my resume here. I tell my husband all the time I have a love-hate relationship w/ my current job. It stresses me to no end, and I wonder all the time why I'm doing it. However, it is very rewarding, tests my intelligence, I have a boss that finally does not micro-manage my employees, and I have accomplished tasks and projects I thought impossible and felt very proud.

When I worked at Knoebels Amusement Resort during my summers off from college. I loved the people I worked with and my bosses were great. The pay was minimum wage, but we got little extras with each paycheck (like a free pass for the swimming pool or mini golf, free food coupons, ride tickets). They also held parties for the employees a few times each summer to help us all blow off steam after the park closed. I got a free meal every day from one of the food stands I worked at and as much soda/tea/lemonade as I wanted. Not to mention having great park food to choose from at the other stands around the park (which is where a good chunk of my paycheck went to!). There was no stress, even when we were very busy, and there was no work to take home at the end of the day (plus our bosses were great about scheduling around whatever we had going on).

When I was in college I was part of a team of students who worked in the residence halls when they were rented out to conferences and camps. We took turns being 'on call,' checked people into and out of the dorms, and staffed the front desk. Usually there was nothing to do at the front desk so you got paid to read or watch tv or whatever. The great part about it though was the other people in the group. Campus was pretty deserted so we'd play sand volleyball, give dance lessons....Boss was great too. As a college kid I don't know what else you could ask for.

I love my job now, but I think I had the best time of my life when I was a receptionist at a TV studio. I got to meet lots of celebrities. I got invited to so many parties. But the pay was awful. I do not know how I survived on the amount of money they paid me.

Let's see..I liked working in the layaway department at Christmas time in KMart. I loved being an Olan Mills Photographer. I started working at the local zoo this seasona nd loved that (worked in gift shops/restaurants) and I am self employed currently working for a company called ChaCha and its a fun job (not great pay though)

I feel absolutely blessed to be doing what I love, working as a Speech Therapist in Early Intervention with infants and toddlers. I look forward to seeing those sweet little faces each day and teaching them something new! I also loved working as a camp counselor for two summers with children with special needs . . . 16 years later, I still have a special place in my heart for each one of those kiddos!

My current position is by far my most favorite ever... though it's not a paying one.... SAHM...

Before that, my favorite job was as a Disney Store ASM... :goodvibes back in the glory days of the Disney Stores :) :) This was 1993-1995.... the collectibles, the guests.... oh what fun it was....:thumbsup2

The one I have now. I just opened a gift shop!! I love, love, love it!

I can't really think of a job I had that I really loved. They've all had their good and bad points.

The job I have now isn't so bad, but again, good and bad points. I'm a lawyer at a big law firm. I make a ton of $$$. What I do is relatively well-respected (especially for a lawyer). But, it's Saturday night, 10:45 p.m., and I've been at work since 10 a.m. this morning. I will be here until 1 -2 am, probably...and I'll be working some more tomorrow. I also billed ten hours yesterday...and the day before that. Billed 200+ hours last month...

That's my life.

Best job ever- well for fun factor- one summer during college I was hired by a record producer to be his wife's shopping friend. He was remodeling the office and his wife was driving him nuts so he paid me to take his wife out. :rotfl2: It paid well and had the perks of the lunches, manicures and hair!

My fave is the one I have now - Paramedic/Firefighter.

My second fave was when I was flying airplanes in the Navy off of aircraft carriers.

My unGodliest WORST job was managing Convenience stores for a (formerly midwestern, now British) Oil Company. It sucked beyond all comprehension.

My favorite job is what I've been doing for the last 30 years, a professional boxing judge. I've traveled all over the USA and to several foreign countries. I've met many people that have become friends and also I have met several celebrities over the years. It's not always easy, but I like the challenge.

I also enjoyed a summer job in college. I worked for the Indiana Dept. of Highways. Good exercise, great tan and fun people to work with. I felt great and looked as good as I could. Great summer.

My favortive so far, was running my own gift basket business. I didn't make anything considering the number of hours I put in, but I enjoyed the creative nature of it. Now, I'm writing children's books. It is a lot of fun, but I'm still learning the ropes. If I ever get published, this will probably be my favorite job!
