I'll be staying at the BWV garden view room for an upcoming conference trip. I am shooting for a room locations closest to the swan and dolphin (where the conference is). I checked out the touring plans room pics and was wondering if by facing the S & D do you have a view of HS and their fireworks? This is a pic of the room location i was considering. Is that ToT in the background? I think i would prefer this to the creepy clown pool view.

Either of the preferred views (Boardwalk/Garden NOT standard view) would be good for a Swan/Dolphin conference. When you add your room location request, ask to be placed at the far end of the hallways towards the Atlantic Dance Hall or Jellyrolls (the extreme opposite of a common request, "Near the elevators"). There are exits along that long hallway at the far end of the building (towards the canal) and at mid-way points in various locations. As each of the long-hallway exits has a staircase, you may want to request a lower floor if you are uncomfortable bounding up and down 5 flights several times each day.

Yes, that is ToT in the background of the shot. Yes, you can see the Studio's fireworks if facing the canal from an upper floor.

See map showing location of room views on ths page: https://www.disboards.com/threads/bwv-standard-studio-view-of-what.3498521/

The room from which that picture of the Swan you provided was taken is an Upper floor (probably 4th floor) water/garden view room located as far to the left as you can possibly find rooms on that map. That reverse L-shaped area is known as the Activity Lawn area (a/k/a, at least years ago, as the Croquet Court -- I do not think anyone has played croquet or done any activity in that area since the 1990s, when they actually did have activities there including croquet). You can see the Tower from that room, but that is not true for all rooms in that area. You really need to stay at the end or no more than a little ways down from the end.

See this map of the Activity Lawn rooms: http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/1429/activity.jpg. My guess is that the photo you provided was taken from 4002 or 4004. Not sure what the best request would be, possibly "room at the end of the hallway" or room "close to the Attic." (The Attic is a rentable conference/event room right at the end of the hallway that originally was a gathering area for only DVC members.)

This was from 5002 or 5004 - I forget which exactly. I had a conference at Swan/Dolphin and requested to be at that end and was able to use the stairs for entry and exit. Actually was only in this room for 1 night and then moved across the hall to 5003 boardwalk view.

I think i definitely like the S & D view much better than the clown. My guess is that it would possibly be a little quieter not being by the pool. Not that i will be spending much time in my room.

I think it's getting harder to see the clown pool because of the trees. i've been in a few rooms that where I wish they would trim the trees so I could see the clown pools!

Until Jelly Rolls closes, very loud patrons leaving.

I would caution you to remember requests are just requests - and my experience with Boardwalk is that they are very infrequently met. On the other hand, I haven't had a bad room, but only once have I gotten anything close to my request.

crisi -- I've often made a room request for the 'far end of the hallway' for conference purposes at BWV. On check-in, the cast member looks at the request and laughs, "Well, *that* ought to be easy. Nobody asks to be at the far end ... most ask to be near the elevators." So, in this case, I'd say that getting a request met is fairly common.

Yes, i do understand this and honestly it doesn't really matter where we are located. We probably would actually enjoy the 5:30am stoll around the boardwalk over to the S & D.

I've never asked for anything hard. High floor (end of hall would be fine), didn't get it. Non-smoking (when that was a thing), didn't get it. I never ask to be close to the elevators - which seems to be the most popular request - or anything else terribly popular.

It is a strangely comforting walk. I've never felt so deeply connected to WDW other than doing that exact early morning stroll. That walk is my "welcome home" trigger -- the moment I feel like I belong. An oddly magical moment!

I totally remember an early morning walk at CBR over to grab coffee. I loved it!! Probably the most relaxed moment of the trip - all by myself, so quiet, peaceful, no one around --those are some of the coolest pictures i took on that trip because it was slightly foggy and not a sole in sight.

My stay on points at the end of March was "garden or pool view." I was in room 1100. It was on the ground floor. I could see the Hollywood Studios fireworks every night at 9:00 pm. No elevator or stairs required to get to the Boardwalk.
