Which version of Windows XP to get?

I was wondering if you knowledageable people could help me. My brother wants to know what version of XP he should get put on his laptop. This would be a new laptop so not issue of hard drive space or memory.
I'm guessing he would just use laptop as a personal extension of his desktop for surfing the net, emailing, driving sis nuts etc.
I don't ever see him using it for any Business sort of stuff. So what version would you think I should tell him to get?
I don't even know what Differences are between to versions so I'm of basically no help.
