Which Value Resort is the best....

I am planning a trip to disney with two of my friends and we are looking to keep the trip as inexpensive as possible. I recently read some less than great reviews about one of the value resorts how they were in a very old room, etc. does anyone have an opinion on which value resort is the best to stay in? Also...what should my location request be?

POP is my fave value. We have stayed in every decade but the 90's. My favorite was the 50's. We were in a standard room, 4th floor, facing the bowling pin pool. Elevators were right around the corner. Very quiet. Rooms facing the lake are also very quiet. POP has a great food court with lots of variety. POP doesn't share buses like the All-stars. POP rooms have all been refurbished recently. New bedding, carpeting, 32"flat screen.

Ive stayed at POP 4 times and love it! 3 out of 4 visits we were in the 50s, this past visit I booked preferred so we were in the 60s. The 60s location was very close to main building and bus, as was building 1 in the 50s. The time we stayed in Building 2 we were a bit farther away, still not bad though. It is such a nice resort and the food court is awesome! Plus the rooms were just redone, we had 2 refurbed rooms in Sept and it was nice with the privacy curtain and everything in the room was new!

I would go with Pop also,especially with the recent refurb.

I stayed there in July and will be again next month.

Pop has a lake,a view of the "high fireworks" from IllumiNations and Wishes,3 Pools,the Food Court is great and the Arcade is one of the 2 best on property)along with the deluxe Contemporary Resort.

The Lobby is gorgeous and they do The Hustle every night at 6:00!

I've stayed at Pop, ASMo, and AS Sports. I prefer Pop slightly because the location is a bit more central. Other than that, there's hardly anything to make the resorts different enough for me to care which value I stay at. So I don't think it really matters which one you choose.

Movies is the only Value resort that has very old rooms. The others Sports, Music, and Pop have been remodeled, with the Pop having just been done.

We were scheduled to stay at Pop last year, but got an offer for free upgrade for OKW, so still waiting to experience it. I've hear such good things about it, I think you would be happy there. We've stayed at Movies and actually loved it, but it's been a while. Sounds like fun to be there with your friends. Have a magical trip!

I loved ASMu when we went.

I don't have kids, but if I did.... They have pool activities every afternoon and nightly movies by the pool. Plus with it right inbetween sports and movies it was a quick hop over to either one to take pictures with the icons.

I also noticed on the threads that it always gets picked as the quietest of the values.

I thought it was very nice for the price and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

There will be bus debates but we only shared a bus once with the other two resorts and it was so easy to get to the bus stop, that it was never a problem. If you were worried about having room then stay on the sports side of the resort and just walk over to catch the bus there.

My vote goes to the Pop. We really liked the quick bus service and will probably stay there again next year, especially after the refurb.

Pop!
We were on the 4th floor, 50's bldg #1 facing the pools. It was a quiet area, unless someone walked by the room, which was rare, since we were on the stairs end and most people took the elevator to the 4th floor. We were able to see the high fireworks from the walkway outside of our room.
