We are trying to narrow down our choices between the values. Right now it is between Movies & POP.

Pop Century buses only go to Pop, they make no stops at other resorts. AllStar buses stop at Sports, Music, and Movies.

I really just think it is the time period that you go and when you are catching the bus. Our experience with POP was awful and was great for ASSPORTS. All Stars from my understanding and experience only shares with each other some of the time. Just finding out when that is, is the frustrating part.

We've stayed at POP 9 times as well as several times at the AS resorts. Really, they all equal out. When we stayed at AS, it has been very rare that we were sharing a bus with another resort and even when we did, it wasn't crowded. At POP, there are no other resorts to share the bus with, but the resort is bigger so there are more people getting on and off at the same time so the buses tend to be more crowded. When you are leaving MK and EPCOT, (I can't remember about the other parks), there is a line for each of the AS resorts. The lines get long if you are leaving right at the end of the night, but they are long for each resort and you don't share buses with other resorts.

I would go more on which resort I like the looks of more than the bus system...

We went the last week in August and stayed at POP. We never really waited all that long for a bus, but my problem with them is where the bus stops are located. They are the furthest from the entrace at every park. By the end of the day and after walking for 10 miles, the thought of walking so far to get a bus almost killed me. The joke on the bus every morning was when the recording came on to ask the bus driver what number stop to go to to get the bus back to POP, the answer was always just go to the furthest palce away you can find and wait there. Also at POP, the bus stops are in the sun, so it got hot waiting for the bus. I have never been to any of the All Star resorts, so I can't comment on those.

I think it is a crapshoot. We went to Pop in mid May and found the bus situation horrendous! It was much worse than when we were at ASMo during Thanksgiving a couple years ago. Leaving from resort to park wasn't as bad as getting back. They did not have near enough busses to accommodate the large Pop crowds. But I see other TR that didn't have that problem, I think it is just luck.

Value resort bus stops are generally the furthest from park entrances.

The All-Stars don't share buses from theme parks at peak times (opening and closing). At non-peak times and on the Downtown Disney route, they share buses.

(I am not entirely sure but they might share buses to AK at all times)

It it means anything to you... the bus service on the Contemporary/Polynesian/Grand Floridian route is far worse than anything you will experience at the value or mod level. Most of the time we rode the bus (in June), the bus was full by the time it got to the Poly. There was really no point in stopping at the GF, but it did just long enough to open the doors, say "SEE YA" close the doors, and leave the good folks at the GF with their mouths hanging open. Coming back to the resort is worse yet.
Bus + Poly = BLOWS.
Some will ask - what did you expect in June or July? I expect a timely bus! With available space (seat or standing)! I expect a bus in 20 or so minutes!
Its been 3 months, and I,m still a little frosted over it.

Bottom line - buses at the values or mods should not worry you at all.

love pop century busses, since they don't "share" with another resort!

Another POP fan. We have had no problems there. All Star Movies bus situation was not good.

POP is HORRIBLE! ;)

If we discourage people from going the buses will continue to be good! :rotfl2:

My experience at POP in March was irritating! Standing room only on most buses! I think it is really the luck of the draw when it comes to POP~ :headache:

We've stayed at Pop twice. The first time, the bus situation was terrible. Long waits going to and from the parks, and extremely crowded buses. One night at MK, we waited for almost an hour at closing. The line snaked all the way through the queue and way back past 2 other resort queues. Plus, it was cold. That was the absolute worst one, and it was the only time it happened. After loud complaining from a lot of people, the buses started coming two at a time.

The second time we stayed at Pop was last May, and it wasn't nearly as bad. Still crowded, but that's going to happen at park close. We probably only waited more than 20 minutes twice that trip.

When we stayed at ASMo, we never waited more than 20 minutes. We did share occasionally at ASMo, mostly during the day when we went back for our breaks. Occasionally at park opening, but at closing all 3 AS had their own bus.

We're staying at ASMusic this trip.

I have never stayed at a value, but I still would vote for Pop Century.

1 - They do not shre busses
2 - The lines to Pop are always much less frightning than the AllStars bus lines
3 - Have you seen the bus lines for AllStars? ;)

We were at ASMu the week of August 25 and it was about half and half; half good and half horrible. One afternoon we were leaving MK and after 45 minutes, still no bus. Several people in line were calling the resort from their cell phones to complain. The line was going down the sidwalk. We finally got on another bus to Epcot, and caught a bus back to the hotel from there.

I'll take an AllStar bus over POP any time!!! We stayed at POP last September (2007) for our 2nd time and the wait for the bus @ POP was absolutely horrible. You might have to wait 2 or 3 buses in the morning before you could get standing room only going to a park. I expect that at park closing - they normally had 2 buses coming back to POP from MK. But just going to a park was absolutely unreasonable.

At ASMu we didn't share with either of the Allstars during our stays there and that was great. Plus with ASMu being so much smaller than POP we were able to get a spot on a bus going to a park without having to wait for 2 or 3 buses to cycle through.

So I'd definitely take an AllStar resort bus over POP any day!! :cutie:

We always go in late September (free Dining Plan  ) and I've stayed at all the All Stars I think 6 times now.

I pick Music as the best:

1.) I have never failed to get on the first bus except for a couple time returning from MK after fireworks.

2.) If the bus is shared (not too often), you are the middle stop. I've seen people not allowed on at the last stop because of crowding a couple times.

3.) Returning from a park, you can take any of the three All Stars buses. It's an extra 2-3 minute walk (if that) from AS-Sports or AS-Mo back to Music. This has saves us plenty of times when the line for one of the other resorts is non-existant, and Movies is long.

I've never done POP, but I have seen the lines for return from parks, and they are mostly huge compared to the All Stars lines. Maybe they have more buses because of the extra size of the resorts?

All in all, I've had very, very good luck with the bus service, I can only recall one time that I had to wait for an extrordinarily long time (over 30 minutes).
