We're looking at staying in a value resort but not sure which one. My question is which value resort do people prefer and why?

Any ideas would be great

Only stayed onsite once at AS Movies, did not enjoy it at all but it was Xmas, small rooms, horrible overcrowded buses, didn't like food court. Would never stay in Value again. Other people love it but it was not our sort of place. Much prefer to get away from Disney to sleep. If we were to stay onsite it would have to be moderate.

Am now a DVC member, after years of dithering, but in my time have stayed everywhere!!

I like all of the All Star resorts. Yes they may be loud and busy but it's all fun and let's face it they are cheap. The food courts are great for choices if you are on a budget and you can take food back to your room, eat around the pools or in the food hall itself.

All Star Sports is my favourite for bus transportation to the parks, but for looks it has to be All Star Movies.

If you don't want too much noise, do not ask for a pool view as this can get noisy. If holidaying on a budget (did this for many years) then the All Stars are great.

Depends on your party but All star music was definetely the quietest of the three when we stayed, and don't think the theming appeals as much as the other two. Sports does have the best bus transportation with it being the first stop, and by the time it gets to movies it can be standing room only, the bus queues at movies were always huge compared to the other two.

However in terms of looks, movies has the best theming. Never visited pop so can't give an opinion on that.

Thanks we're thinking of still hiring a car but have decided we will have a 3 week holiday if we stay in a value resort rather than our usual 2 weeks. It will be the least noisy that will appeal to use:thumbsup2

Loud and busy is not fun:rotfl2: I go into the parks for that, hotel I want quiet and relaxing. Just got back from Courtyard by Marriott LBV, perfect, DTD in 3 mins, and to rest of Disney parks in 15 mins. £25/night with free wireless access. When we booked ASM it was £75/night in 2000/01. So overpriced.
I love Disney parks but their hotels just don't do it for me:guilty:

im adding a vote for pop century :thumbsup2 great themeing and food court and a better bus service

Pop Century, the newest of the values, and it doesnt share a bus with other hotels. You dont seem to find so many children at this resort, and ive always found it quiet. Its clean, and has a good food court.
im staying there again shortly, after transfering my booking from all stars.

All Star Sports or Pop for me, love both of them. Love the theming of both, the bus's at both were great but liked the food court more at the pop, there seemed to be a lot more choice than the all stars. I liked the fact that you could walk to Mcdonalds from the All Star Sports, but more than anything I love staying onsite, so any of them would do for me. Let us know which one you choose.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Pop Century. Centrally located compared to the All Stars and only one bus stop as opposed to the three you make going through the All Stars.
