My parents are watching our child so we can have a night out at disney. Any suggestions for a 1 table service credit dinner? We are looking for something quiet, dim lighting, not lots of kids running around(is that possible at disney). Thanks for your help

Hmmm... I would say Jiko, in the Animal Kingdom Lodge.....Low lighting, not a lot of children, EXCELLENT food!!

Not sure how many credits it is...We are unfamiliar with the dining plan.

Jiko is a 2 credit restaurant.

I do not believe you are going to find exactly what you want at any 1 credit restaurant. Most of them are neither quiet nor lacking in children. I'd suggest outlying table service (not buffet) restaurants like Sanaa or Turf Club, with a later reservation time.

San Angel Inn at the Mexican Pavilon in Mexico. Very dim lighting, usually quiet and very romantic dining by the river. :lovestruc

Also sometimes noisy and loaded with children. The tables are also very close together, which is typical of some WDW restaurants.

I agree, all the more romantic, low light, less kid places are 2 credits BUT you get MUCH better food and the type of atmosphere you want.

Another vote for San Angel Inn. You cannot beat the atmosphere of this place! The food is very good too, not tex mex style, more traditional foods but still very good.
On our experiences have been pleasent, not alot of kids or noise.
Sitting by the river watching the boats go by and the dark, watching the volcano......it is so romantic!

I agree. I was going to suggest Sanaa. After dinner you can wander around a look at the animals or go over to the Jambo House to use the night vision goggles. Or how about The Wave at the Contemporary. I haven't eaten there, but I've heard wonderful things. I saw the dining room the last time I was there and it was very pretty.
Restaurants off the beaten path are going to be your best bet for 1 TS.

Another vote for Sanaa. It was the most romantic meal of our trip and we ate at California Grill that trip as well.

I would agree with Sanaa as well. Among other 1 TS credit restaurants, I would also suggest Captain's Grille at the YC. It is generally not very crowded, so it is relatively quiet, although it does not have dim lighting.

As for Cal Grill, that is the opposite of romantic. Even though it is 2 TS credits, with the crowds and kids hoping to see the fireworks, it is always loud and busy. Not a place to go for peace and quiet.

My DH and I went to The Wave at the Contemporary for our date night in november and there were very few children...the lighting was not dim but not too bright either

How about one of the signature restaurants, using the 2 TS credits for one meal and paying OOP for the other. That way you would get the atmosphere and the great food but not mess up your meal count.

Sounds like Sanaa or the Wave are your best bets. We found San Angel to be rather like TDC NALA says--crowded and over-run with children. It's possible I suppose to get a quiet table by the River--but not many seats in that location. And because it is a open restaurant inside a pavillion with shops, a boat ride etc right next door,, it is quite noisy.
And the food isn't great either-nor is the service from a staff trying to work in impossibly crowded conditions.
Other than all that it's a pretty good restaurant:)
